=MAG=JimBeamBlack Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 Hello all, I just picked up Flying Circus and I want to set up my new HOTAS Warthog to properly use the hat switch, I found this video (see below) doing searches and this seems to be exactly what I am looking for. I have, and have used, my IR head tracker but I hate wearing my headphones all the time or a hat with the tracker on it, sometimes I just want to use my 5.1 surround and my joysticks. I'm getting things mostly set up but I just for the life of me can't figure out the head movement, if ANYONE could please give me a step-by-step to setup my hat-switch to work like in this video it would be greatly appreciated!! Unfortunanly these days I have VERY little time for my hobby and my head is so FULL of life tasks that I am overwhelmed and end up just getting frustrated, and I just want to start enjoying this great sim, I'm sure I could understand this much better if some one could just get me started. Anyways, if anyone has any time to help out with this it would be awesome, screenshots would also help a great deal. OR, if there are already step-by-step guides on this a link is just as good!! Anyways, thanks for taking the time to read this far

This along makes me think you should stick with your trackIR system. It's so much easier. I too hate the extra wires and wearing a sweaty headset, but I find hat views bloody anti-intuitive. Still the above video explains them very well, IMO> Edited October 25, 2020 by cardboard_killer 1 1
=MAG=JimBeamBlack Posted October 25, 2020 Author Posted October 25, 2020 (edited) So, If I understand, I hold down the hat switch to the view direction I want to adjust, then, I use those movement controls to adjust that view direction, hit F10, and then it's saved to my hat switch? And, to use different adjustments I hit F9? If so that seems pretty easy.. I'll give it a try now and see what happens, thanks brother. PS: I do have a pretty decent IR profile I picked up over that the ED forums, I use it for the A-10 and with P3D and MSFS 2020 and it works for the most part, except when I want to adjust myself in my seat on long flights and it goes wacky on me out of no where for some reason, probably needs to be replaced soon, so I have been using my hat switch much more lately. EDIT:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: I just tried to setup the "centered quick view" and it just doesn't seem to work for me, either that or I just don't understand lol... The video is helpful as I do understand the concept, but getting there is still lost on me. I get my default view set up, but then form there I seem to be lost, I really need a step by step. I'll keep at it but NOW I have to get ready for some outdoor chores. FIRST however, I'm going to go shoot down a Fokker with my TrackIR, that will make me feel better Edited October 25, 2020 by =MAG=JimBeamBlack
