RCAF-De_Havilland Posted October 24, 2020 Posted October 24, 2020 at long last im back in the skys! it been a while but im back with some basic gear, and therein lies my request. for some gottverdammt reason saitek equipment(managed to salvage my old x52 throttle and got a new saitek av8r joystick) has every single axis inverted by default, including the throttle and sliders. this is fixable for main control axes since you can just reinvert them but that is not the case for everything else and therein lies the request. could it be possible that all axis and slider type controls have an invert toggle option?Would definitely fix a lot of headaches for anyone using saitek gear which from what i've seen is decently common as a intro to mid tier setup.the inversion is absolutely infuriating honestly and would be nice to have the option to toggle inversion on all axises to fix that. anyway glad to be back and flying, see you in the skys soon! o7
[CPT]Crunch Posted October 24, 2020 Posted October 24, 2020 I don't know if the game still does it, but it used to be the case you could set your axis all the way opposite, than try to hook it in the game, by reversing the direction of pull or rotation it would detect that direction. Give that a whirl, might still work.

Any (IL-2:GB) game control that can be assigned to an axis (of joystick, throttle, pedal, quadrant, button box...) can be inverted, by click in the small grayed box with a curved arrow ahead of command name. When the axis is inverted that box became highlight in white, and the axis movement can be checked in the axis test tab, by click in that "S" button. An very good game "how to": https://www.airgoons.com/w/IL-2_Beginner_Guide Edited October 24, 2020 by Sokol1
[CPT]Crunch Posted October 24, 2020 Posted October 24, 2020 And if all else fails you can manually edit the configuration file.

If you are talking about IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad/Moscow/Kuban/Bodenplatte... controls, see the invert button for throttle axis (already inverted, highligh in white) and for other axis: Anyway, like the guy say above you can do this inversion manually, in the file "current.actions" in the folder ..:\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\input\ rpc_all_engines_throttles, , 0| // Engines throttle control rpc_all_engines_throttles, joy3_axis_z, 1| rpc_all_engines_mixtures, key_4/key_3, 0| // Engines mixture control The "0|" means that axis is in normal direction - curved arrow button gray The "1|" means that the axis is inverted - curved arrow button white Edited October 25, 2020 by Sokol1
