Flying over Ypres 1919

They did a great job rebuilding the town, it is a lovely place to stop for the night.

Listening to the Last Post at the Menin Gate sent shivers down my spine - very moving.

Last time I went there it was during the centenary 'commemerations'. You couldn't get near the Gate during the Last Post because of all of the British schools being politically correct and blocking the place up. Most folk were seeing the ceremony on their phones. I went there before a long time before 2014 and will go again when the dreaded Covid is over, hopefully to experience the ceremony without all of the hundreds of people who really don't care. I'll be looking for a quiet night.
