Hawker hurricane canvas cover HE interaction

A question to devs, how will be Hurricanes canvas covered surfaces interact with HE fuses?

This is a whole different beast in terms of how it deal with HE over pressure or fragmentation and, at times, might be passed trough harmlessly by HE. 

I am not saying that canvas was superior in dealing with HE damage, i am just saying that it had different failure modes. And the HE's usually detonated on the internals instead of the skin. 

 

This is very interesting topic that i have been mulling on for a time and now i am just burning with curiosity...

The Yak fighters already have a similar rear fuselage construction, a fabric covered steel frame at the sides and below of the tail section up until the cockpit area, and the I-16 has fabric in most of it's wing structure





For what I have seen with the I-16s geting hit in game, they always detonate the HE rounds and the results are often catastrophic for such a small wing, often sending them into unrecoverable spins because of the loss of lift after 1 or 2 hits.

It would be interesting to have a mechanic whereas the HE round might not detonate if it happens to go through the fabric without hitting any ribs or spars, but I don't think it would be implemented soon.

Canvas on the Hurricane!!! No thank you. Irish Linen if you please . Almost all of the Hurricane is covered with it. Interesting question re the HE damage.

So... most strains of wild hemp actually don't produce much THC... I've heard it said that you'd have to make a bonfire, and pass out from Co-2 poisoning before getting high on the local stuff. This is probably true of most forms of agricultural hemp as well. Of course, there is a likelihood of contamination through varieties bred for THC being released into the wild... especially now that it is legal to grow them here in Canada.

 

So, I suppose... high in altitude only... while that lasts.

Truly a favourite. I used to be annoyed by Akbar's lines being reduced to just that one (he does say other things - especially if you've ever played the original X-Wing space sim)! But the idea of him pulling out a tarp makes it worth the meme!

They actually managed to get the real Admiral Ackbar voice actor for the X-wing games as well!
