Dagwoodyt Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 (edited) My understanding is that the Normandy map will not cover London. What % increase in map area would be needed to encompass London, even assuming city structures would not be modeled? Edited October 20, 2020 by Dagwoodyt
[DBS]Browning Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 (edited) 9.82% or 12.21% depending on how you define "London". Edited October 20, 2020 by [DBS]Browning forgot to carry the one

Be a bit of a kick in the balls if the land and Thames were there without any city at all. I'd love to have London on the map, as I would with Moscow being within the map boundaries. London is subject to bombing throughout most of the war and would represent a massive strategic target in game for bombers and night fighters. However, it's a bridge too far with the current technology. We'll have to settle with whatever London Boroughs may appear on map. Besides, I'd rather see detail put into strategically important locations as well as the iconic stuff. Like Portsmouth, radar stations, terraced streets, the cliffs of Dover, Tangmere Wings airfields, Stonehenge ect. The same goes for France. It'd be awesome to see the bocage represented with hedgerows, Caen, Dieppe, Calais, the Atlantic wall, Falaise ect. Sadly Dunkirk and Amiens got chopped off the map and look to be just out of reach. Either way. For me the appeal of the map is making cross channel sweeps at first light Edited October 20, 2020 by 616Sqn_Tyggz 1 1
LuftManu Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 I think we might be able to see London and Paris as we do with Moscow. At the edge of the map and usable for Navigation. I really hope for this! See you in the skies! 1

Bremspropeller Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 Jason, do you already know how to depict the building-up phase of all the auxiliary airfields in France? It's probably going to be a pre- and post- map each, right? 5 minutes ago, Rjel said: I am eager to hug the waves in a Mosquito, racing towards an important target on the continent. ...and then crash into the french coast, because the weather-guesser back home guessed a wrong altimeter-setting. ?
Avimimus Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 Honestly, this map will be a huge undertaking without the addition of more large cities!
356thFS_Melonfish Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 There's still plenty of british towns to bomb don't worry.
