One thing that just struck me: are those images supposed to be to scale? If that's the case, I think you shrunk the La-5 quite a bit.

I am not sure but i doubt the planes in the files i used to take my charts from were in correct proportions to eachother in the original documents (see here my source: http://www.hnsa.org/doc/id/fm30-30-air/index.htm ). There might have been some scaling.

Sure, nothing wrong with the charts at all, relative aircraft size is completely irrelevant for aircraft ID.
