SR-F_Winger Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 At least when it comes to BF109 vs. YAK, LAGG, LA5 this could help a little: http://vsg1.de/index.php/Attachment/3-Freund-Feind-Erkennung-pdf/ I created it using the information 9./JG54_EZ provided in another thread. So kudos to him. And the other guy he gave kudos to:) 3
Finkeren Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Great stuff, and quite useful with the great LOD in BoS
VikingFjord Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 I have been flying for 17yrs and i just printed this out! *lol* Thanks!
Finkeren Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 One thing that just struck me: are those images supposed to be to scale? If that's the case, I think you shrunk the La-5 quite a bit.

I am not sure but i doubt the planes in the files i used to take my charts from were in correct proportions to eachother in the original documents (see here my source: http://www.hnsa.org/doc/id/fm30-30-air/index.htm ). There might have been some scaling. Edited May 21, 2014 by VSG1_Winger
Finkeren Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 It just seemed a bit odd, that the La-5 apperead to be both shorter and have a smaller wingspan than the LaGG-3.

Finkeren Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 agreed. But it still does its service i hope. Edit: I mean the charts:) Sure, nothing wrong with the charts at all, relative aircraft size is completely irrelevant for aircraft ID.
