new hardware choice

Till now I played a little bit on IL-2 with an laptop I5-6300HQ 2.3 GH, GeForce GTX950 M 8 GB DDR4.
my laptop died  ((
I only play with IL-2 and Warthunder. (maybe DCS later )
I have no knowledge about hardware at all.  and my budget is limited.
Only I want to stay in an AMD for a PC and eventually a i7 for a laptop.
1st question;    Is a laptop with a I7 a good idea ?
2d question
would  this configuration for a PC be a good idea ?

Hmm, would never buy 5500 XT for a flight sim, even though it might be "enough" for 1080p. 5700 minimum.

It is used 5700 then, or I can believe you can find soon some cheap 5700 on sale at 300 euro. 5500 is in practice outdated. 5700 is good for years to come.

I've got an 5700xt. Excellent card for the money. But indeed skip the 5500. You could do a 5600 if you're tight on $$$.

5700 xt is a damn good card. The latest drivers boosted the performance to 2070 Super/2080 level. You can't go wrong with a 5700xt.

Be careful, at that price it ought to be used or a 5600 xt. If thats what you want go for it, but if you want a 5700 xt make sure that is what you get.
