DN308 Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 Is a factory building has a smoke ingame ? I mean, every chimney dispense a smoke automatically or do we need to put an effect substainer ? And if there is a smoke, how can we oriente it? Wind conditions are affecting automatically or no the smoke direction? I actually design a big industrial complex and putting smoke effect everywhere is way too CPU greedy
JSOflyer69 Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 what you can do is put a smoke effect or fire ground effect placed on the ground, put a building on top if it has a chimney it should work,if you look in one of my missions escape the airfield fw190d mission on parking look to the right you will see an old shabby house, fire and smoke are coming from that [you have to have my v4 effects ] for it to work. but yes if you have a tall building with a chimney i can see no reason why you could not put a smoke effect inside and have smoke belching from the chimney,i will have to try it,maybe you would need to set the smoke effect to a higher height to match the height of the chimney
DN308 Posted October 17, 2020 Author Posted October 17, 2020 Yep, I’ve already done that... but, I’m searching a way how to make an industrial complex with a lot of chimneys have smoke without have the game stuttering all the time

Can you tell us what CPU and GPU you have ?
DN308 Posted October 18, 2020 Author Posted October 18, 2020 I have an AMD 4Core cadenced 2,6 to 3,2 GHz and a GTX 1080 as GPU

Time to ask Santa for a new 5000 series Zen3 and a 30 series Nvidia card under the Christmas tree nearby the fireplace.? Then you will be able to have smokes fires and chimneys all over the map? 1
Gambit21 Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 Turn clouds to medium, they’re harder on your GPU than smoke - also turn draw distance down a bit. 1
DN308 Posted October 21, 2020 Author Posted October 21, 2020 My letter to Santa Claud is already done, hoping that mister covid would not keep him locked down. Thanks a lot you two for your advices. I’ll do what you suggest
IckyATLAS Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 Good news for Santa Claus. The independent benchmarks show that the new RTX 3070 is equivalent or better to a 2080Ti but for a third of the price. That would be the best for the buck GPU solution at this moment just before the todays new Radeon 6000 series GPU from team red. It could move the lines wait and see. 1
