Add DLSS compatibility?

Apparently developers submit their game to Nvidia who then train their supercomputer to beable to use AI to upscale the game. And from there it's apparently quite easy to implement on the Developers side.

I have no idea if this is true or not. But DLSS is an incredible feature. And it would be nice to see IL2 on the list of compatible games, particularly for better performance in VR etc.

I'm curious if DLSS would see a single pixel of a far away plane as some noise and possibly remove it.

Good point.

Now War Thunder is official supported with DLSS!

Look at this. Picture of DLSS is even sharper! Sadly there is no plane in the distant to check how it is going to look like... I think Developers of Il2 should really consider this technology as a great opportunity for weaker computers and VR (yes!, DLSS support also VR) to play with a decent FPS. Everyone knows how demanding is this sim in VR. This could be the solution we need soooo badly.

As loyal customers I believe we deserve an answer from developers if this can be added.

Thanks in advance.

I tried DLSS in VR in warthunder. It is evidently not supported, looked like trash! ?

Just tried DLSS in Cyberpunk and it makes big improvement in performance while keeping the image quality!

We need this in il2!!!!

The latest update to DLSS, 2.1, is going to support VR.  IL-2 supporting DLSS would be invaluable for both 4k gaming and VR.  This can't come soon enough!  Any feedback from the dev's?

Yes, I know this is an old post, found it while trying to find out if the game supports it.

I'll add my vote. Hopefully the devs are looking into this.

We need everything we can get to improve vr performance.

Adopting new techs should be priority but dlss doesn't need dx12? We don't have that

We need it for multithreaded optimization.

I'm really hoping to see this implemented in IL-2 for VR.

Yes please, devs. Seems like a great way to boost VR performance while not putting in the optimization work.

I would like this, especially in VR. New, better headsets are coming that really require this to be able to work.

Unfortunately DLSS require DX12 and RTX compatible GPU. This would mean making a completely new engine supporting DX12 and I don't believe that the company has the muscle to implement it. And also, if the customers don't run RTX cards in suffcient numbers it would drain recources implementing something for a very small number of players.

That might be the " Big news "

My understanding of the game is that graphics are not the performance bottleneck.  CPU is.

As a VR player for me this is a must have feature.   The performance and quality of antialiasing in DLSS is actually really good and I feel it would be a real game changer for VR players.  Please implement DLSS into the render pipeline !!!

I find now DLSS 2.2 a major improvement and no-brainer for antialiassing.  I tried It in the new update of War Thunder and It great. I wish it´ll be implemented on Il-2.

I would say it's mandatory for Il2.

Same as upgrading the engine for DX12 and multithreading

of course dx12 is needed for it to happen too...

and then with forward you could get vrss with nvidia  also...

AFAIK DLSS don't need DX12 to work, it's fine also on DX11 games. E.g. Crysis Remasterized use DX11 and DLSS 2.0.

Edit: Adding-> Yeah I'll be really happy if DLSS and/or FSR and/or RTX land in IL-2, could be a game changer for VR users or 4K users where GPU is often the bottleneck...

Yes it looks like DLSS is supported in DX11 now
