Methodology: Ran quest 2 at 100% charge in link mode. Ran beat saber, jammed something in sensor area and rocked the headset in my lap to keep screens going. * Lost 9:45am data point due to walking away and screen turned off for unknown amount of time. Inatech 7 port usb 3.0 pcie card and recommended Anker cable used. (Links below)

Data: time/charge

9:25 100%
9:35 96%

9:55 90%* (new point after 9:45 point lost)

10:05 85%

10:15 82%

10:25 80%

10:30 79%

10:35 78%

10:40 77%

10:45 76%

10:50  75%

Had to do stuff ?

Quest 2 seems to drop fastest 3/2% every 5 minutes before hitting the 80% charge mark. At this point it would appear its smart charging kicks in and battery drain was reduced to 1% every 5 minutes. At that rate if consumption if it held true to 0  would be looking at 7.5 hours of play time

I did some more messing around with mine (had to unpack it again, lol). I found 45 minutes in Elite Dangerous dropped the battery to 80%, so it was clearly getting a charge while in use. I calculated the rest periods would be enough to keep it topped up, as in I'd never get to run the tank dry, so I'm keeping it. :)

Original issue...the supposed 3.0 slot it was in was coming up in diagnostics as a 2.0, so I guess that was the cause of the charging problem.

Happy to hear you sorted it out! Yeah I have the 2.0 issue with my motherboards USB ports. Seems to be linked to a issue with Asmedia chipset. My 3.0 on the intech usb card has no issues. Usb link test clocks in at 1.7gbs and delivers a charge. Still love virtual desktop though till official update of link.

There's a 3rd-party battery-pack that has an extra charging port, so it could be run in WiFi while still getting a charge.

Yeah ton of options. Wife got me the elite strap with battery for my bday and will arrive next week. So I’ll be good for my wireless room scale and seated gameplay
