Cynic_Al Posted October 12, 2020 Posted October 12, 2020 At the time of this post, there is in operation an FC themed server called 'The Graveyard Shift'. Since there's neither any way of knowing its operator's identity, nor if it's intended to be an ongoing server, I just want to indicate that it is not currently joinable. One can connect but it gives a file transfer error message. The usual cause of this is a file missing on the server but not missing from the admin's own machine or game folder, which is why they don't get the error. Probably a sound or image file.

Cynic_Al Posted October 24, 2020 Author Posted October 24, 2020 Just for the sake of completeness, it seems they resolved the issue but needn't have bothered, since the content turns-out to be more of the same. It you must have persistent bots, two per side is an absolute maximum otherwise it creates an unusable mess.
Zooropa_Fly Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 (edited) That's your opinion Cynic, and perfectly entitled so you are. But there are some who just like a bit of action. Being nothing more that a computer game, there is no right or wrong here - as leisure time, we can configure our own as we wish. You had a good day in RoF yesterday, I'd have been on myself if my stick wasn't currently inop. However, in the server description, instead of describing the bots as "withdrawing" as a second player becomes active, it should really read 'will disappear into thin air'. And on the hijacking of the word "regulated", it should be pointed out that all bots are regulated on servers - yours are just regulated differently in one respect. If your definition of "action" is sifting your way through a cluster of deceptively-named bots in order to find an opposing human player, then trying to engage them without the bots interfering, I would say you have hijacked a term. All I can be accused of hijacking is a minimum standard, to the appreciation of the evolved strata of the community.
Zooropa_Fly Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 Now as an adept in the field of comedy names, as you are.. I know you must appreciate the genius in some of them.
