cardboard_killer Posted October 12, 2020 Posted October 12, 2020 Anyone have one of these? Opinion? Thinking of moving up from 27" 1080p. Westinghouse WM32DX9019 32" WQHD 2560 x 1440 2K Resolution 144Hz HDMI VGA DisplayPort AMD FreeSync Technology Flicker-Free Anti-Glare Widescreen Backlit LED Gaming Monitor
LLv34_Flanker Posted October 12, 2020 Posted October 12, 2020 S! Seems fairly reasonable for it's price. Asus also has similar displays at comparable price range,TUF-series.
SharpeXB Posted October 12, 2020 Posted October 12, 2020 I would consider HDR in any new monitor purchase. IL-2 doesn’t support it but nearly every other new game does including MSFS 1
TWC_Ace Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 (edited) I still cant decide. 27" or 32" 1440p monitor. 27" would be sharper with better pic but 32" would have bigger dots (visibility better)? Or the dpi doesnt matter? Which is better? Edited October 13, 2020 by =VARP=Tvrdi
J2_Bidu Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 I own this 32'': https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-C32HG70-32-Inch-Monitor-C32HG70QQN/dp/B06XT6WQCJ It non-officially supports G-SYNC. I run it at 1440p. Monitor sits at about one and a half arm's length. Can't say I have great visibility, in the sense that no way I can see the smaller dots easily.

Or the dpi doesnt matter? Which is better? Hard to say. You would almost have to test them yourself which is better for you. IL-2 people tended to favor bigger monitors so that they could get bigger dots, but that was on old IL-2 where dots were like dust spot ? And called as dots accordingly. Competitive gamers in CS:GO use 27 or even 24 inch monitors, so that everything on the screen would be in their field of vision. If I had to chose blind I would go for 27" with this game, arguing you can't see a contact good if you have to focus on different areas of the screen in the first place. But this can be different thing depending on how your sight is. If it is bad, then maybe you need a bigger monitor so that you could see the contact if your field of vision happen to be in that place. Edited October 13, 2020 by messsucher
TWC_Ace Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 (edited) Like I said. I only play IL2. That is why I cant decide clearly right away. 1440p is the limit resolution and the question is if I would spot planes better with 32". I somehow doubt. On 27% pic would be sharper and nicer that is true. Im arm lenght away from my screen (24" 1200p). But at work same distance but there I have 32" 4k monitor. Edited October 15, 2020 by =VARP=Tvrdi

This might not be possible, but could you set the resolution of that 4K monitor to 1440p and see how it looks? That should give you an idea of sharpness etc. on that size of monitor. 1
=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 (edited) 4K Monitors are great for IL-2 as can run them at 3440 x 1440P (set to not scale to fullscreen) so with black borders which is a great Resolution for IL-2 and Perspective / FOV As not scaling it does not harm monitor sharpness of image as still only using native pixels. just less of them.Personally here 50" (110cm) 4K OLED Display ~ 1ms @60hz ~ 70-100fps in IL-2 MP Using Nvidia Fast-Sync. $220 USD Brand New :D Below pic is actually 3660 x 1660 custom res i was testing, This is why i preder 3440 x 1440 due to its FOV instead of much smaller 2560 x 14403 Shots Above were all done with same 4K screen set to each res. Bigger screen is bigger screen, more immersive...while 2k still looks great on 34". For me personally too crisp picture (ground textures and objects) feels plastic in il2.... 6 hours ago, =TBAS=Sshadow14 said: 4K Monitors are great for IL-2 as can run them at 3440 x 1440P (set to not scale to fullscreen) so with black borders which is a great Resolution for IL-2 and Perspective / FOV As not scaling it does not harm monitor sharpness of image as still only using native pixels. just less of them.Personally here 50" (110cm) 4K OLED Display ~ 1ms @60hz ~ 70-100fps in IL-2 MP Using Nvidia Fast-Sync. $220 USD Brand New ? Middle one by ratio looks best, more natural than 3rd one.....first one not worth mentioning
