Hello

I'm a big fan of g6.  Have a chance to see in the game? Why only Stalingrad. Former "IL2" series had dozens of aircraft. Why not preferred between 1943 and 1945: ( I think the most beautiful aircraft is going through in this period.

It is a matter of scope. The sim has a finite budget for both time and money. Your G6 will be available if the game sells well and has the future resources to fund expansion packs. Seeing the current quality of both the build and customer interaction I think you can look forward to many more aircraft, theatres and time frames. It is, however, contingent upon the sim being successful in the here and now. So pick up a copy, tell your friends and get familiar with flying the f4 and g2 as most of the Luftwaffe had to do.

I want the g6 too partialy because i want the mk 108 30 mm  cannon to be available. as a weapon option. In other simulations i don't think it's been modeled quite right. In real life the g6 was quite similar to the g2 we have in the game. The only modifications are a more advanced radio and a more robust undercarriage on the g6 .

The original IL-2 Sturmovik came with 10 basic aircraft types plus some sub versions. I had to look it all up but that roughly compares to the 8 that we're getting with Battle of Stalingrad Standard and 10 with the Gold edition. The old IL-2 added extra planes for features that we have as options in the armament and aircraft configuration screen.

It's better to focus down a little bit and make sure that the aircraft types are well represented for the time period. That was the biggest issue for some years with IL-2 Sturmovik with its inconsistent aircraft lineup that was rectified partially in Forgotten Battles and more fully later on.

We've had many discussions about the success of Battle of Stalingrad and what the next step might look like. If we go to the Battle of Kuban or Battle of Kursk next... you can pretty much be assured of having a Bf109G-6.

And Bubbi's and Graf's tulip noses as skin options!

That's a matter of taste I suppose. I'm very much interested in the early - mid war myself, and I think some of the early war planes are among the most beautiful and interesting machines ever constructed, just think of the MiG-3. Wow!

With a bit of luck, and continued support for this sim, we will both get our wish in time, though it's unlikely that we will ever again see a sim of the same scope as the original IL2 eventuallly got to.

We have all a wish list and we have all a WW2/Great patriotic war plane we love more than any other!

The Battle of Stalingrad is rich in planes we like to fly, a lot of old plane were used until they got replaced by new models.

Some of us like to fly this old models other love the feel of power that comes with the new ones.

BOS is like ROF and in this game (ROF) month by month the design team constructed a nice collection of planes to choose from.

The big advantage of the ROF system is that you are not oblige to buy the planes you do not like and so do not want to fly and each plane does pay for it project.

So if you like the BF109 G6 so much when and if they propose it to you try to convince "all" your friends and family to buy  it when the team shall propose it has a preorder like in ROF!

Long shall live IL2

Personaly I like the P39 very much and it did begin its carrer with the VVS at Stalingrad, fantastic :pioneer:

Never seen anything to suggest that it did. P-39 was used in Murmansk, Karelia, Leningrad and as far south as Voronezh but I can't find anything about it being involved with Operation Uranus. Which units were involved?

Seeing as the P-39 featured heavily in the Kuban river battles... I imagine that might be where we first see the P-39.

I like mk108 in BF109G6  it  can made one pass one kill in "IL2" series.

but (imho) average guns in BOS seem have a lot damage power then  making one pass one kill or deflection shoot not look much difficult

for old hand friends

and I agree with @sensjspcc more plan will come in BOS same like ROF

It seems that it is 298 Gviap. at  Kemerovskaya...not certain but their first mission was to escort a flock of Pe-2! :salute:

Yes it is te end of operation Uraanus or the begining of the next one!?!

Did a little Googling... 298 GvIAP flew with Yak-1s until January 1943 where it withdrew and was re-equipped with the P-39 (appears it was the D-2 and K-1 versions). It was back in action in March 1943 near Korenovskaya (or Korenovsk... or whatever the spelling is) which is near Krasnodar. The unit would have been busy in the Kuban battle area with heavy fighting from March to August 1943. So unfortunately not Stalingrad and not part of the Operation Uranus offensive that IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad is seeking to create.

I can definitely understand the draw to having the P-39 in game which is why I'm very hopeful that Battle of Stalingrad will be successful and that after a few additional aircraft are added on that the devs focus on the next expansion area as the Kuban battle area. The Bf109G-6 (as the OP is asking for), P-39, Spitfire V, FW190 variants, new Yak variants, Ju88s and others were all active in this battle. It's one of the biggest and most sustained battle areas. It'd be great to have as a follow up assuming BoS is successful.

And do not forget the sea... And all those harbors and ships to bomb...

Agreed - early war is best.

P40's, Mig3, 109E, I16 - can't beat that.

I get equally excited about the late war stuff... Fw190D-9, Tempest V, Yak-3... really I'm happy with everything from I-15bis against Ki-27 to P-51D and Me262s. I know people say early war is better, late war is better... whatever, put me in a WWII era aircraft and its all the same fun to me. The different styles between early and late war are extremely interesting especially when in IL-2 1946 you can fly them back to back. It's a real challenge to be talented with both.
