343KKT_Kintaro Posted October 4, 2020 Posted October 4, 2020 (edited) Hi you all, IL2CoD veterans... and not so veterans. EDIT : THE DR2 HAS BEEN ADDED TODAY (OCTOBER THE 9th, 2020) TO THE GAME'S FOLDERS WITH THE ARRIVAL OF VERSION 5.009 ITS LOCATION IS Program Files (x86) --> Steam --> SteamApps --> common --> IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover Blitz --> manuals --> miscellaneous --> DR2_Disk.zip If you are not a veteran in the "Cliffs of Dover" combat flight sim, you may not necessarily know that in your Steam folder, in your computer, there's a digital & printable version of the German Luftwaffe and German civil aviation "Dreieckrechner DR3" flight computer. The so mentioned folder (and file) are located as follows: Program Files (x86) --> Steam --> SteamApps --> common --> IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover Blitz --> manuals --> miscellaneous --> DR3_Disk.zip Following the instructions included in that downloable zip, you can print your own "Dreieckrechner DR3". To know what it is, do not hesitate to read this first: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flight_computer To know how it works, do not hesitate to read this: http://www.wiki.luftwaffedata.co.uk/wiki/images/Dreieckrechner_2009.pdf For the last 4 years, the DR3 model was the only model of Dreieckrechner disk that was proposed as a printable in our Steam folder. The problem is: the earliest known DR3 is dated March 1943. Thus, our DR3 was nothing but an anachronism in the historical context of our simulation. "Cliffs of Dover BLITZ" is set in the Summer of 1940 for the Battle of Britain and in the period 1940/1942 for the Desert War in Libya and Egypt. In those years, the timeframe that corresponds to our game, the model used by the Germans was the DR2 (released in Germany in 1936)... so I asked the author of our digital DR3, VO101_Tom, if if it was possible for him to produce one digital version of the Dreieckrechner DR2. He responded both positively and very kindly, and now, for the period 1936-1943, we finally have our DR2. Thank you so much, VO101_Tom! Tom told me he asked TFS to include his digital DR2 in a future patch of the game. In the meantime, he created a provisory link which allows you to dowload the DR2 immediately if you want: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eynbL3DMj7HRAK2xXh5KkjQtNa0Ez9ck/view Nevertheless we hope that very soon, a patch will include one "DR2_Disk.zip" alongside the already existing "DR3_Disk.zip".
