I am tired of my Creative 2.1 . Its 12 years old and the sound is fuzzy and i cannot understand a word i hear which forces me to put on headphones for clarity of speech  . Is a subwoofer necessary for this game ? if not what do you recommend for speakers ?

Well, people appear to plain gimp sounds in simulators, which I don't get, so I would say anything less than HiFi is bad. But you have a plethora of options. I paste some in the name of admiration.

GRADIENT 1.4, floor speakers.

This last is Logitech Z623 "THX certified" "multimedia" toy set.

200+ euro HiFi headphones are good too. Gaming headsets usually bad.

i have been reading a lot about the Logitech Z623 and its highly rated . I am just wondering wether the subwoofer is important for IL2 or can a good 2 speaker set with good base do a better job . I am tired of this boom boom boom and rumble rumble sound .

I have them. I bought them from IRL shop about 50% sale, paid like 100 euro, bought them to be my emergency speaker set. They are not HiFi speakers by all means, but somehow they work pretty well in games and movies and are by far better than some other multimedia sets I just hate and would totally refuse to use. Those Logitechs I can tolerate.

Subwoofer in my opinion is good unless you have very good speakers. Low frequencies are rather important in adding immersion.

Speakers, I use this two  "Scythe Kro Craft Speaker Rev. B" really very high quality sound for $50.  And as amplifier i have here two mono bridged YDA138-E, TPA3116 and the TDA7377 powered with a 12V battery from my bike.

What in your opinion is a good 2.1 0r 2 no subwoofer HIFI PC set irrespective of cost ? my 12 year old Creative 2.1 is attached by jack to the SB card , i see now they are all USB with their own chip i believe , so what happens when it goes through the Sound Blaster card or the integrated one in the motherboard ? is there any conflict ?

I don't know. There are so many options it would take ages to try them all out and compare the best 1vs1. Anyway you should stop thinking about PC speaker set, it is marketing talk for bad powered speaker manufacturers, made to mislead you to think their products is what you should get. You should just think about getting speakers, and in your case if you don't want external amplifier you need so called active speakers or better said powered speakers, which mean the speakers have an amplifier, just like so called PC speakers do have.

Also it doesn't matter what I like is the best because speakers can be so apples and oranges, you can like very different speakers than I like. And even if you like similar speakers as I do it would depend of the place where the speakers are how they sound in the end. The speakers would sound differently at your home than in my home because of different acoustics.

So basically we can only agree on what sound absolutely bad meaning wrong. After certain quality level is met we could only agree that certain speaker sound good, meaning it does not sound bad. Then if we would begin to be elitists we would begin to call very good speakers "shit" because we would be idiots, and would try to express elitism that way.

It is best if you can listen the speakers yourself. If they sound good in your opinion, then they can be good for you, if you have listened good speakers so that you have an idea how a good speaker play music. If you don't know how a good speaker sounds then you can think some speaker sounds good, but it is not good for you, because you just don't know of better, and can't thus pick speakers which actually sound good - and which would be really good for you.

Anyway, in the name of speaker pr0n I look for some speakers.

KEF LSX

If you get so called active speakers meaning powered speakers you only plug 3.5mm jacket to your computer and then RCA cables to the speaker or another 3.5mm jacket to the speaker, depending on the connections. Connectivity is not an issue, you just need the right cables.

Also need to mention what Livai said, one way to get lots of bang for the buck is to buy some sort of amplifier kit and and cheap but good passive speakers. The best bang for buck would however be your local craiglist or HiFi forum etc. You can get very good second hand stuff from those for little money. The internet is an endless treasure chest!

so i purchase 2  passive speakers , 1 amplifier , cables connect speakers to amplifier , amplifier connected to wall socket .  I have a sound blaster card and control panel made by creative with jack ,  or i will have to use the embeded sound system in the motherboard usually realtek i believe . How  do i connect the amplifier to the PC sound system ? does the amplifier substitute the SB card ? hope im making the correct questions

It depends on what Soundblaster you have, meaning what connectors it does have. But what works like always is the Headphone Socket, which is the second socket from up in the picture below.

Then you typically need 3.5mm to RCA cable, of which there is a picture below. You put the 3.5mm "headphones type" socket to sound card and the two RCA cables to the amplifier "aux in" or "line in" or even "CD in" connections.

The amplifier typically have connections like this. There reads things like "input" or "Line In" or "CD" or "Tape" or "Aux in". "Phono in" never use, it is for turntables and have RIAA correction thing. "Letf" or "L" and so on mean left speaker.

It can also be that the amplifier does not have RCA input connections, but only one 3.5mm connection. Then you need a cable like this.

I'll find one i'm sure . The rest is all available here .

You don't need an amplifier for KEF LSX. They contain an amplifier. With such powered speakers you tend to control the volume from your computer. Hope you get the speakers, everything is so much better with good speakers!
