VA_EchoFiveWhiskey Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 (edited) When I am playing the game the engines will randomly turn off, bomb bay doors will open or windows will open or close ext.. without the pressing off keys to engage the action. Was wondering if anyone knows a fix for this or what might be causing it. Edited September 30, 2020 by 31stMEUArcturusOne Misspelling
Diggun Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 UNHELPFUL RESPONSE ALERT! When you're seven miles up in the heavens, And that's a heck of a lonely spot, And it's fifty degrees below zero, Which isn't exactly hot, When you're frozen blue like your Spitfire, And you're scared a Mosquito pink, When you're thousands of miles from nowhere, And there's nothing below but the drink - It's then you will see the gremlins, Green and gamboge and gold, Male and female and neuter, Gremlins both young and old. White ones'll wiggle your wingtips, Male ones'll muddle your maps, Green ones'll guzzle your glycol, Females will flutter your flaps, Pink ones will perch on your perspex, And dance pirouettes on your prop, There's one spherical middle-aged gremlin Who spins on your stick like a top. They'll freeze up your camera shutters, They'll bite through your aileron wires, They'll cause your whole tail to flutter, They'll insert toasting forks in your tyres. This is the song of the gremlins As sung by the P R U, Pretty Ruddy Unlikely to many, But fact nonetheless to the few. 1

Certain key bindings are double bound, so when you try and increase RPM, for example, it ALSO drops the gear. 2. Your inputs are misfiring due to problems in your controllers. Basically, the joystick is sending signals for button presses that didn't happen. 3. Something is corrupted in your configuration files or your install that is triggering these actions with no inputs. I would backup your Il-2 data folder and then have a poke around in there. Look at the devices.txt file and see if you have any duplicate devices listed there. Check out your config files for your inputs as well, see if there is anything duplicated or strange in that file. 2 hours ago, Diggun said: UNHELPFUL RESPONSE ALERT! VA_EchoFiveWhiskey Posted September 30, 2020 Author Posted September 30, 2020 Yeah it is truly random as it happens when I’m not currently pressing any buttons and has happened on to different PC’s I recently upgraded and also installed IL-2 fresh on the new pc. They only I copied from the old pc was my Skins and custom photos on the dash.

They only I copied from the old pc was my Skins and custom photos on the dash. Did you use the same input controllers for each PC? If it is happening between PCs on different, clean installs then to me that indicates a hardware problem. Random inputs doesn't seem to be a problem for everyone with Il-2, only sometimes and usually there is a culprit in the configuration. Some ideas to isolate the problem: -run il-2 with no controllers attached, only the keyboard and mouse. Swap out the mouse and keyboard if you can. -if nothing happens, plug in one controller and try again. Keep going until something bad happens. If it happens regardless of controllers attached or mouse and keyboard, then you know it is not likely related directly to the hardware. But somewhere in the system there are phantom inputs coming from somewhere that the game is registering, and on a clean install corrupt files or bad settings should not have transferred over. Also, post the PC specs, including drivers, windows version, etc. Windows 10 does some weird stuff with controllers on occasion so it could be something in your setup there as well.
Remontti Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 Could it be USB power problem? Some USB power saving settings enabled in Windows. I recall reading something like this happening to someone else too.

Windows power controls cause all kinds of trouble for gaming.
