Max696 Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Hi is there any difference to see aircrafts at long distances in il2 bos, il2 cod, dcs?
ITAF_Airone1989 Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Right now Bos is probably the best. They ignored players complains for ages, then they made a pool and in few weeks solved the problem. CLoD: the spotting is perfect at short range, but higher is your monitor resolution shorter is the spotting distance.. let's say 5km more or less if you play 4k, 7km for 2k and a little bit more for 1920x1080. This has no sense, hope they will fix it soon. In any case they have others difference: BoS it's simpler of you are a beginner, CLoD much more realistic. About DCS I'm not an expert, but I think exist a "dot" that help you to spot enemies, but I really don't know more. Still, it's the most realistic simulator. That is a good thing (funny and interesting) and bad (soooooo difficult) at the same time. Last thing: to spot someone you need people in the server. About this the rank is (with no doubt) 1st BoS 2nd CLoD 3rd DCS

It’s difficult to judge between DCS and BoS for server numbers due to the sheer number of servers put up for DCS but each server generally has smaller numbers. BoS has at least two and often three servers near capacity. CLoD has an average of around fifty players both on and offline at any one time which makes it a distant third. Since there are still people taking part in online wars and coops, as well as a small dogfight server element, it’s quite possible that IL2 1946 has a bigger online presence than CLoD. It’s certainly got a bigger, active single player element.
ITAF_Airone1989 Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 I said I'm not such a big expert of DCS, so if I said something wrong my apologies. In any case: I consider a single server with 60 players better than 15 servers with 4 players. CLoD average players is pretty low, except than during weekend. This is true and is a shame cause has a lot of potential. In DCS I never saw so many players in a single server, but still I have a little experience with this so maybe is better listen to somebody else.
