I plan to move  all my IL2 purchases to a newer/faster computer in the near future. What is the easiest way to move all content?

Many thanks

Copy the whole caboose of your current game installation folder as backup to an external drive.

With Theracopy you can verify the copied files.

Then install the game fresh on your new computer, test run it, and all OK delete the new IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles folder (backup if things go wrong)

After that you can copy your OLD IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles folder from the backup into it's new place.

Just to piggy-back on this.

I normally just back up all my configuration files, specifically key-bindings from the /data/input folder.

I've come across install issues a number of times in the past from trying to rebuild from a whole-game backup and regularly just redownload/reinstall and replace keybindings. Even then, if you're moving to a new computer, sometimes the hardware id of your controllers end up moving around. My pedals moved from joy1 to joy0 a number of times for example. I'm not sure if it's been improved, but that's still something to consider.

That's just some feedback in case you have to rely on a backup of your sim. Hope everything goes well!

1. Download installer.

2. Run installer, then stop.
3. Copy the backup content to your new folder.

You need to delete specific file that "remembers" joy0, 1 etc. Then connect only the device you are playing or connect everything but in specific order.
Edit: Its \IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\data\input\devices.txt (backup the original file first)
Try maybe to switch the first numbers or switch the devices to a different numbered line
