Atlantia39 Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Hello, I'm a noob so I started a Career in Easy Mode...I've flown a few missions and I was curious what is the use of the $$$/Rubles you acquire? The modifications for my aircrafts are free...do they cost $ in other difficulty levels? Thank You.
migmadmarine Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 They aren't used for anything, they are simply part of the medals system as the soviets would award ruble bonuses for enemy aircraft destroyed.
[CPT]Crunch Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Every thousand rubles allows you to download the skin of your choice in any of the skins threads for free. You can also email them to fellow needy pilots to help boost their standing.

PatrickAWlson Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 You can do a mental role play where you only get a nice skin if you accumulate a certain number of rubles.

For truly advanced mental roleplay, imagine pestering your CO about when you are likely to actually receive the promised rubles. After a few months on the front, when he doesn't pay up, conduct an elaborate plan to get him shot down over enemy territory, becoming CO yourself. But then all your junior pilots start pestering you for the rubles, and at this point you know that the commissars are full of crap and there are no rubles, and even if there was most of your pilots don't live long enough to spend it. And one day you notice that all the pilots in your command are looking at you with the same hatred that you once looked at your CO, and you start wondering if all that shoulder shooting was really the heat of combat, or inept attempts on your life from your own men? Now every time you take off, you have to watch out for the Luftwaffe and your own squad mates... We can turn Il-2 into a psychological thriller with the Power of Imagination!

At least one of my subordinates had it in for me. Then we switched to the FW190 and the all died. 1

danielprates Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 I think 1.5 or 2 years ago we had a discussion here about the historical accuracy of these money prizes, it was pretty interesting. Anyone can find it?

In the 1950s, You could by a fair-sized single family home in a nice town for $15,000 and a car for under $1,000. Today, that would be at least $90,000 for the same house and $20,000 for the car. $500 dollars was some professional money in 1940.

Not accurate enough, death toll on RAF bomber command and US heavies exceeded D day landings and any landing in Pacific. It was not that high for fighters medium bombers from UK after 43
