Stuttering problem - please help

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody.

I have a serious stuttering problem. it's impossible to play, every 2 seconds he stutters. I tried many options: screen resolution, screen frequency, re-download nvidia drivers, start with win7 compatibility, I also tried to reinstall it, I also tried to remove the epilepsy filter from the settings . nothing to do, it doesn't work.

this is my hardware:

ryzen7 7200

ram 16 gb

zotac 2070

nvidia driver 456.38

can someone please help me? I'm out of ideas and I'm going crazy.

I've got the same problem but there is no official fix for it at the moment. Other users have reported that reverting to older GPU drivers has fixed the problem. Check the other threads on this section for the exact driver. I will be waiting until an official fix for this issue is released though.

I'm not sure waiting for an 'official fix' is the right course. That implies something doesn't work. True there's been those with issues regarding a particular driver for eg, and then others have no issue at all with the same driver etc. What is a definite is we each have a different computer with different hardware / software and conflicts / incompatibility issues that may come up will be user specific. The game works for the majority of us, or else there'd be a problem all round. Personally I'm thrilled to have not had any issues because I don't play any other games of any kind and have very limited computer smarts. But I do take interest in others' issues so I can possibly point in the right direction if I read of a similar issue. You're in the right place where a TFS member who does know what he's talking about (I don't) can assist.

Re driver rollback, check post #3: https://steamcommunity.com/app/754530/discussions/0/2941370278948683911/

Not the same problem but maybe worth a try?

I see you‘ve tried Win7 compatibility mode with no luck. That solved the problems I had with hitting fly and the game not running and missions (SP or MP) not loading properly.

Maybe try deleting the whole 1C folder under My Documents (make sure you save your .inis for controls, info windows and belt configuration - as it‘s a pain to have to redo them, so you can copy them back once you‘ve tested it and see if it still runs, if it‘s the case).
No need to reinstall the whole game. Steam will rebuild it.

Another thing to check is opening Nvidia Control Panel and pointing to the Launcher64.exe to make the configuration there is ok (default to start with). Just to make sure there isn‘t anything funny happening.

More cores shouldn‘t be the cause of this. There are players using Ryzen 7 for example who don‘t have any problem. I am sure there are also others with Ryzen 9 that don‘t have this problem. But just in case, try to set your cores to say 4 and see how it goes (task manager, right click Launcher64, Set Processor Affinity).

Of course there's something not working correctly, the devs are looking into this, hence my reply. Here the stickied thread regarding the issue:
