IL-2 Sturmovik Desert Wings Tobruk Livestream

During the first 30 minutes of the livestream we will show you how to set up controls. Ammunition, bomb selections and info windows. Plus answer community member questions.

We will then head to the TFS Tobruk Server 3 where Pattle will wing up with Karaya and Yotheguy

We will show you the advantages of flying with a wingman, the work rate involved in being a wingman and the absolute importance of communications.

We look forward to seeing you there.

It's a shame I'm not available this evening. Is this event planned for being repeated in the future?

Thank you, I'll watch them later. Asking questions simultaneously, this is a privilege I missed as I wasn't free for this event. Maybe the next time. Cheerio and thanks again.

Nitpicking. ?

I suppose that the target audience for this kind of video is more an "new/casual player" than veterans.

Pt. 1

3:00 - Coud be advised player to delete this "Exit Game = Alt+X", since is redundant (copy of command), the traditional "Alt+F4" do the job, and being non conventional can be used inadvertently.

11:55 - Should be mentioned that "Cycle Autopilot Modes" work only for bombers, since is the selector for 'Kurssteuerung' autopilot Mode Course and Mode 22.

The traditional  "Ai autopilot" (for single player use)  is controlled by "Toggle AI control" (very "informative" name for the control)*, in the General section of Controls.

* People complain - with reason; because expect find a control called  "Autopilot" , "Autopilot AI" like is most flight games, not "Toggle ..."

Pt. 2

8:08 - Could be advised player remove this "Hold to Offset Camera" = Mouse Left,"  so he can use mouse left for fire gunner machine guns likes is common in CFS, FPS... games and because this command is useless:

(I have pointed this several times) "Hold to Offset Camera" and "Hold to Zoom Camera" ** are named inverted, you need press and hold mouse right for offset camera (slide view for left/right, back/forth) not mouse left.

Doubt? Do this test:

Press F10*** (for turn off Independe Mode), press mouse right (assigned for Hold to Zoom Camera[wrong name]) move mouse left/right, back/forth, what happens? Yeahhh ?

Now press mouse left, move mouse left/right, back/forth, what happens? Yes, nothing. ?

So this  "Hold to Offset (that means Zoom) Camera" can be safely... hidden ? and "Hold to Zoom Camera" renamed - correctly, for "Hold to Offset Camera".

I know, this things don't matter for an TrackIR user, but affect the "new/casual player" using joystick/mouse for camera control.

I don't use TrackIR (have one in the drawer,  cause me headache) and have nothing mapped for "Hold to Offset (that means Zoom) Camera".

Offset.thumb.jpg.0399be4c20b52c9b1ee97f6ad6de95d7.jpg

But I can control the camera offset.

** Like Vertical and Horizontal Convergence are inverted up to TF 3.0 (?) patch, and are  two commands called "External View" up to TFS 5.0 patch.

*** Can test with "Independent Mode" on, but is need press and hold mouse middle button together (for momentarily turn off "Independent Mode"), what is a bit awkward.

And all this issues was pointed :umnik2: be... me ?  at 5 or more years.

Yes, it is really confusing/complicated, after all "It's CloD!" ?

Those controls seem to be for external view, in the external view they do what they are supposed to do but in the cockpit they work as you say

"Hold for Zoom (that means OffSet) Camera" is for move the camera in "4DOF"  (left/right, back/forth) inside cockpit via mouse.

Is useful - for non TrackIR users;  for look at side of canopy in takeoff and landing, and for look at Spitfire/Hurricane compass.

I imagine that "Hold for OffSet (that means Zoom) Camera" are planed for the back and forth movement, but since this movement came integrated in "Hold for Zoom (that means OffSet) Camera"   this command end without function.

The vid's Video settings suggestions were really helpful to me.I've had CloD since the evry beginning but never had a clue on the best way to set up some of the more obscure settings,so this was great !?
