No, but as you can see from @Control_Freq's post above, and as I alluded to earlier, this type of development is another peice of a puzzle that MAY get us there one day.  Combined arms provides opportunities for gameplay beyond flight simulation alone.  Think big picture.  I hope someday we can.

I don't know the overall direction of this project beyond what we have collectively seen, but developments that enhance play opportunities for us, AND also might attract "non-traditional" players to our genre, expand the product's mass appeal, imho.

I really would like this. Not specifically the act of walking in/out of the plane as such, but the idea of having a more immersive experience in the airfield and around the fly it self;

Once inside the sim I would like to see more activity in the airfield, like in the new carrier in DCS. Animation of ground crews assisting star-up, removing chocks, sitting on your wing (when appropiate) to guide you to runway, rearming, refuelling etc...

Also, instead of just spawning from the map/lobby having a "briefing room" (not neccesarily in 3d, a 2d screen would be enough and convenient) where you could join into a ad-hoc squadron with other pilots and share a map where you can plot targets and courses (like in il2 mission planner) and then this translate to the map for your mission (not editable once in fly). This, together with srs integration and the incoming Marshall mode would make the simulation experience of flying in a squadron much more immersive.

Obviously, being able to walk (or share a ride in a car) toand from your plane would be another fine touch.

PD: I am aware most of this is far from trivial to implementing and far from being a priority. But one can only dream....

I give the developers of CFS3 and the original IL-2 up to 1946 credit for at least trying. I do find it comedic, in particular with Russian and German pilots after parachuting into water or getting out of their plane after it ditched into a body of water and the pilot/crew running on water before belly-flopping into the water. But this was (somewhat) improved upon with Pacific Fighters where when American and Japanese pilots parachuted into the water or got out of a ditched plane on water, they automatically appeared on the surface with a lifejacket or in a life raft for the pilot. I wish they had done the same with the German and Russian pilots as well.

There are many other comedies in IL-2 1946 like hitting a fence at 5km/h is certain death, same with belly landings at 250+km/h and flying through a forest, and belly landings at like 230km/h causes a major break-up of the airplane, that being the empennage and wings. But look what the devs have done in this game, they've improved upon these things that annoyed people in IL-2 1946.

As I said before, I give them credit for trying when it comes to pilots exiting a plane after landing, as I'd rather have something kind of cheesy to show that they're trying than to not have it at all. And C'mon. These 2 games were made like 20 years ago where games had much less fidelity, detail, and graphics than today.

One example in IL-2 Great Battles is that I was once flying a mission in the Lightning Strikes campaign and saw a Russian Barge over the Low countries... A Russian barge over the Low Countries??

Same goes with WW2 Barges being in Flying Circus Vol.1, despite the latter taking place in WW1 and the barges being made in the early 1940s.

See. They've included these to at least show that they're trying; or would you rather have it that the devs decided not have these barges at all in late war Western Front titles and WW1?
