lights position too much visible

Recommended Posts

Many of us use their lights in fight : this is absolutly not conform in the reality of ww2.

And more it's pretty unfair because these lights are too much visible  at day light in our simulator. It's absolutly insane, we can see them better at day light in our simulator than by night in real...

Is it possible in the future to decrease their intensity at day light?

Same thing can probably be said for tracers,  but I’ll be honest I’m unsure of their brightness in reality. But judging by my experience with “bright” lights. They don’t travel that far, even things like PAPI’s which are pretty darn bright, are only visible for say 8 miles or so.

It was sugested before to them that this needs to be adjusted, i didnt here from single player that he like how nav lights look at day, they are imply to bright and as you get more distant from them they get bigger, i hope this is case of its on "to do list" for fix and not that this is how they gona stay forever. If i remenber there was even simple mod that made them mutch more beliveable.

Regarding traicers i would also like them to be toned down, especialy from big distances, they just look to big also as you move away from them.

The navigation lights are far too bright, ridiculously so.  So bright in fact, that when the navigation lights are on in daylight the light halo makes it difficult to identify the aircraft type from normal identification distance; the navigation lights as modelled are a total irritation and open to abuse in an unrealistic way.  No navigation lights in the simulation at all would be a better option for the developers than the navigation lights as currently modelled.  I think there can be hardly anyone that can think that these lights are realistic, even the developers, but here we are still with these lights with a modelling which is simply daft!

At least CloD made a wise decision and decided not to model navigation lights.  Well done CloD and Oleg Maddox.

Yes even no lights would be mutch better then what they look in game during the day, yes clod did good to not bather with them.

I confirm, for have shot many tracers bullets (7.62 and 20mm) at my army period, their luminosity was less visible also (at day light). The excess is about the same level than position lights on planes IMO.

+1 for toning down the nav light beacons during daylight.

We finally got the needed visibility, so there is a chance this too will be adjusted. :)

Lights and tracers toned down please.

Second this. It is not correct tracers shows like firework on the other side of the map in daytime.

I absolutely agree. The brightness and intensity of nav lights and tracer is borderline silly.

Agree to all above... dim em down.

Also, the light that comes on on the A20 when the bomb bay is open... eliminate it altogether (and I wouldn't object to elimination of nav lights also).

CloD was never finished. The lights are in the game. There are screen shots floating around of someone hacking them to work.

There is a lot of functions Cliffs started building that is in the game (sorta) but not active.

What a great game that was. The damage model is bloody brilliant. I wish they could make it look like BoX. I have to have my eye candy.

With this light of such intensity, even from a big distance we can find most easier and identify the A20 if its bomb bay is open: it's just a raw treason against the bomber pilot ?

Yeah, lights and tracers should get toned down. A lot. They act like a beacon. Every time someone shoots, all the planes in the area are attracted to it. I‘ve even used it before to let a wingman quickly find me from a distance.
Or when someone turns on the lights. Even more problematic on the A-20, as it can‘t go unnoticed (at least until the bombs go off). Even though the white light isn‘t as bad as the red/green ones.

With the new visibility system the lights and the tracers the way they are now (ie very large and bright, easily visible from great distances) have become a bad and unnecessary thing.

That is why we should NEVER shoot the enemy from a long distance. Ammunitions are inefficient, accuracy is severely degraded and above all, we reveal our position miles away ... This is revealing for beginners and idiots: 80% chance of being ineffective and 90% chance of being spotted .

The worst part is that they also do it when they are not alone and therefore risk the lives of their teammates...?

This has been a concern for as long as I care to remember in BoX, and I don't think it has ever been acted upon.

The sad fact is, even with the new spotting, I tend to find aircraft to pounce upon online through their tracer fire long before I see the physical aircraft.
