Harlequin Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 Just wondering now to tell what level your squadron mates are in the campaign. Are they based on rank, or victories? If so what corresponds to each? E.g is ace after 5 kills or ace once captain, or major etc. Many thanks
PatrickAWlson Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 Open their log book and it will tell you on the left side of the first page. At a glance of the chalk board, anybody with 5 victories is an ace. Anybody with a few is a veteran. Anybody with on or two is probably average (I use the phrase competent). Anybody with zero victories and few missions is either novice or possibly already competent depending on service and date. In my mind ace is a very good pilot. Veteran is a guy who has been around a bit and survived. Competent could be a guy who either just came from a very good training program or a pilot who has a few missions under his belt. A novice is a new pilot who did not make it to competent right at the start. A pilot being competent from the start depends on service and date. Late war Axis and Russian pilots are not likely to be competent from the start. Early war Axis, American and British are more likely to be competent (Average AI).
