Sokol1 Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 (edited) Not specifically, but have read many testimony that this virtual* axis work OK. Example: https://www.reddit.com/r/HotasDIY/comments/ixwa5x/using_logitech_momo_racing_ffw_as_rudder_pedals/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFwRyuZp3Yc * I use VKB T-Rudder for rudder control, and use half of VKB Gladiator twist axis (left) for create an new virtual axis for "wheel brakes", but set this axis in VKB DevCfg (firmware configurator) software. Red_Von_Hammer Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 (edited) Finally got it working, you need vJoy and UCR. Issue is finding a vJoy that installs on newest W10 update (even if it gives error at the end of install) and a UCR that's compatible with that vJoy.. Now I got so many vJoy's and UCR's I wouldnt be able to tell you which versions I used, I do know that I'm using UCR v1.0 You'll just have to try various vJoy's till you find one that works, then try all the UCR's you can find until you have one that works with the vJoy you have installed. I don't think the vJoy or UCR this guy used worked for me, but it's a good and quick guide without 45 mins of sponsor ads or sh*t for setting it up WHEN you have a vjoy and ucr that works: So, it has to be axis X. After you've done this, to get it working in IL-2 you can't just click the axis you want to assign and push the pedal, the game accepts priority from the racing pedals over your rudder pedals. Instead what you have to do is: 1) Start your game so it loads all your controller devices, then exit the game. 2) Then open explorer and go to \IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\data\inputIL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\ 3) Then open a text document called devices (I use notepad), and find which device the vJoyDevice is numbered, in my case it's: 7,%2207000d70-f438-11e8-0000545345440280%22,vJoy%20Device The 7 at the start there is important, that's the number you're looking for. Remember that number, and close the notepad. 4) This is where it can get tricky: Open the Actions file, called Devices, with notepad, and scroll down until you find this line: rpc_yaw, key_x/key_z, 0| // Plane UNDER that it has to say: control: yaw rpc_yaw, joy7_axis_x, 1| Again, 7 is the number that I found that IL-2 assigns to my vJoyDevice, which I found by using step 3. For yours it might be different, hence you have to find the number that IL-2 assigns to the vJoyDevice. Again, you can't just enter the game and push the pedal and go "yuppie", you have to do it this way, or no go. Good luck! Edited September 23, 2020 by Red_Von_Hammer 1
Sokol1 Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Seems this version of vJoy is compatible with Windows 10 (1903). https://github.com/jshafer817/vJoy/releases/tag/v2.1.9.1 2
anwrd39 Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 vjoy has somehow broken joy2Key, anyone have the same problem?
6FG_ST0N3DLAMA Posted October 1, 2020 Author Posted October 1, 2020 thanks for the reply guys appreciate it !
Sandhill Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 @Red_Von_Hammer that worked perfectly for me! Recently returned to BoS (and now Great Battles) only to find that the convenient system of controllers in columns, assignments in rows that DCS and MSFS use was not available. I took advantage of the market conditions created by the MSFS release and unloaded my Saitek Combat Pedals just last week for a good price as i fly from a dual use cockpit, and only auto racing pedals would ever be installed, the Saitek pedals had just been out in the garage for ages, so it was make or brake to bring the racing pedals into the game. I had to make two changes in the current.actions file, to joy2 and to axis_x as axis x is what UJR had assigned to the pedals. So now joy2_axis_x, THANKS, you saved me and now I can go to the Halloween sale and buy! 1 1
