PLEASE dont pass off the work of others as your own simply because you splattered a few more weathering layers from the BOS template and changed a few details here and there. Its lame. Its also largely the reason some of us who used to create skins no longer do so.

Second when an "artist" try to make something he is always influenced by others works wiithout thinking bad.

I realise that you are suceptible , i am sorry for you.

At the end we do planes' skins for plesure and we are not Picasso or Monet !!! Social network are really strange.The next time i will said,if my skin is not totally new, all the autors who have used,template,markings etc.found on the net.That will be very long.

I'm glad you understand.

I can't comment on this skin because I don't know who did the work on it. But it is extremely annoying when people do very small changes to a skin and claim it is their work. It happens all the time, unfortunately, and it is the reason why many people including Captain Farrel (a great skinner, probably one of the best) stopped making skins.

If Picasso took someone's painting an added dust it would not be his. If someone adjusts a skin all that is needed is to say, 'it is not mine, I added dust, that's all'.

Then everyone is happy and we can have lots of skins.

But ... When you have spent very much time making a skin (hundreds of hours doing preparatory work, camouflage scheme, panel lines, stencils, emblems, adjusting colours adding dirt and wear) then it is very painful when someone adds 2 small things and says 'look what I made'... and especially when they receive comments from the community such as ' wow, you do amazing work, I love your skins. You are the best skinner!'.

It is respectful to say what work you did. That should be obvious.

Firstly Im not interested in the slightest in havng a good relationship with you. 

Secondly dont you dare presume to lecture me when youve ripped off my hard work and tried to pass it off as your own. 

You are not an "artist". You are an assembler of pre existing layers and, in claiming the majority of the work as your own, a charlatan. Nothing more. You've taken a completed skin that I created over many hours and days and added nothing more than some layers off the BOS F template (badly and without any degree of care) and your own logo. You deliberately obliterated my name plate using the "parts" layer and even took out Check my Six's credit for creating the template you used in the first place. 

Not totally new? Its wholesale ripped off and rebranded as your own with minor changes. Deliberately so and for your own glory and praise.  

I find your comments beyond disrespectful and you excuses quite pathetic.

No worries and thanks. At the end of the all all that was needed was an acknoledgement from the guy. Sadly that didnt happen. For the relatively few skins that Ive done publicly (and their quality in comparision to later ones where Id sussed out much more) both here and over on ATAG Ive been surprised by just how many times they have reappeared as the work of another. Whilst its no biggy in the grand scheme of things, it does irk especially when the same "but Ive added so its mine" excuse is used.   

 

The 109 in this thread is a partiular sore point because of the amount of work I put into the worn and stained paint effects on the upper surfaces. That took many full days of trial and error before I lost all my work due to a stupid press of a key and I had to go with what I had. As such its, for me at least, unique and, even in its rough and part finished state, something that I was and still am proud of.

 

As an aside and looking at the other skins posted, I would be very doubtful that any are original. Theres simply to much variation in style and too many familiar schemes. Most are just composites of layers from Clod and BOS various. And badly done at that.

 

If you are looking for some truly magnificent 109 skins for Cliffs/Sandclod, head over to ATAG's download section. There you will find some original Cpt Farrell skins that Mystic Puma kindly sent to me for upload along with a whole bunch of skins I took from M4T and Asbiz that, after a careful look,  I beleive are Capt Farrell's but have have his his tags removed by some not rite.  To add to Setback's comments,  Capt Farrell's, Keefy's and Shado's skins stand head and shoulders above the most of the user made skins for Clod still available and, if you like your skins, they should definately be on your hard drive at least whilst Clod is still using 2K plates.

 

Finally and speaking of Keefy (Check My Six), its a bug bear of mine that few credit him and his skill for creating the many of the original Clod skinning templates so comprehenisvely and so well. Without those the average skinner would have been stuffed.  So, for any future skinners reading this please give him a mention if you used his work and dont obltierate his tag like the twonk in this thread seems to have done on the 109s.

I hope he has the integrity to man-up and own the mistake he has made, but I fear for his sake that it will never occur and now he has the wrath of the community on his back after they read this or by the word of mouth of his misguided doings. He now has the 'monkey on his back' - so to speak.

 

With regards to the skins, yeah I think I've snaffled up just about all the skins from the major players on the ATAG forum and the Asisbiz site. CAPT Farrell's skins are as rare as chooks teeth, so any opportunity to grab them are a must. But that's not to say that any less effort or hard work hasn;t been put in by the rest of you skinners - so don't sell yourself short on that  .

Click on image, then click again and it will re-size to correct 2048 x 2048 dimensions. Then right click and select 'Save Image As' into appropriate skins folder.
