Enhanced Visibility Server Setting

With this new update (4.501) I note that the configuration setting Alternate Visibility has been renamed to Enhanced Visibility.  In the multiplayer server configuration files the setting reads "AlterVisibility=<true/false>" .

Does the update change the name of this variable?  Or will AlterVisibility remain useful.  If the variable name has been changed, what is the new name?   I note that there are no new multiplayer sample configuration files in the update to help answer this question.

Yes,  like Persecutor asks, I would like to find out too.

Like you, Kadin, I check this thread every day wondering if a developer would kindly provide an answer, but all we get is silence.  Disappointing.  So far, without specific testing or special knowledge, the setting "AlterVisibility=true" is effective if for no other reason than we can see other aircraft at noticeably further distances.  But that fact is not really a suitable answer.  Helpful, but not suitable, and certainly not definitive.

I tought its easy to see from game update notes:

"4. Alternate Visibility has been renamed Enhanced Visibility: this mode gives a much greater increase in aircraft visibility at long ranges compared to the new standard visibility. At medium ranges, visibility is also significantly improved compared to the old Alternate Visibility option;"

So that setting is just renamed and does same thing as before with fixed problems it had.

And also from what they say on russian 4.501 update topic it makes contacts be poesible to see at 3 times longer ranges then standard and are 3 time bigger then on standard.

You may have misunderstood my question.   I realize what the change is and what it does.  My question relates to dserver's configuration files, which, without further explanation regarding the update in the update documentation (which is silent on the subject), retain the older name "AlterVisibility".  My question is whether the configuration file entry regarding that setting has also changed its name (yes or no), and if yes, to what was it changed?

variable will have same old name, its just displayed differantly, ( iceheck in game difficulti files and it also have old name in conf file).

So what you used before will work same, you can also se now when you start server if its on or off as they added option to display difficulty settings of servers in lobby. If you wont to point out to them that there is confusion now as they keept old name in conf files then you can better get their atention by posting in bug i doubt they look here mutch, and you will get devs replay if thats the aim.

As CountZero, mentioned, the old variable in server config file: "AlterVisibility" is being identified and its value translated accordingly on the Servers' lobby.  A little testing on/off seems to affect the visibility, so I am going to bet that what CountZero said is probably what is happening.  The name of the feature has changed on the user interface (client) along with the effect but, under the hood of the engine, the variable's name is still the same.

It is still a legit question, if nothing else, for the future possible changes, to expand and clarify for dedicated servers too.  I am pretty sure it has been an oversight with all the new stuff going on, anyway.
