Skinning the razorback's spinner.

I am struggling with how to color the spinner on the P-47D-22. It looks fine when stopped, but when rotating, bands of the color I have applied to the spinner shift back onto the hub. Anything that can be done to correct this, or should one just not paint the spinner? Would be a shame, as I'm intending to tackle "Magic Carpet" as a skin.

Thanks, gave that a look, but it doesn't quite solve the issue I have, since I'm trying to only paint the spinner, not the actual hub. The issue is the color  on the spinner gets copied to the hub as the prop spins:

That long rectangular piece in the middle has the still spinner tube and spinning hub in it. I'm not sure where the divide is if there is one.
