BOS no longer launches, starts then crashes with ntdll.dll error

Been playing IL-2 for four years with no issue, and then tonight I get exactly the same thing, cant launch from Steam but I can launch from the folder, but all my content I purchased from Steam is padlocked.

 

The game is asking me to link my account and Steam but it already is and has been fine for many years. Any pointers on how to resolve this please?
