Beebop Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 (edited) After fighting the need to change, I have finally come around to the fact that my old Paintshop Pro 8 32 bit program, as good as it is and as familiar as I am with it, needs to be put away for legacy work only. One thing that has off put me is understanding those "new-fangled" interfaces with all the colorful "smart phone app" icons etc and the new toolbars and dialogs. I tried upgrading to PSP 2019 because I found I could make it look and feel a lot like my old dinosaur. But when installed I got an 0xc0007b error but I already have DirectX12 and all the Net Framework updates, supposed solutions to that so I gave PSP 2019 the heave ho. So now I have GIMP 2.10.20 because it's effin' free, it handles .psd files, it can export .dds files (I already use it do that for my 2K skins) and a lot of folks here use it so it must work pretty good. But... the interface is a bit confusing to an old fart like me used to the "ancient prehistoric cave drawings" look of PSP8. What I would like to do to speed up my learning is make GIMP look as much like my PSP 8 interface as shown below so I am spending time learning how to manipulate the tools rather than trying to find them and figuring out how to make them work. I know all the tools I need and want are available, I just don't like the layout and that is 'slowing me down'. I don't expect any long drawn out tutorials from anyone, but links to good GIMP Tutorials that show how to achieve this look would be appreciated. Edited September 9, 2020 by Beebop
