Dufalator Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Hello, I purchased and activated BodenPlatte. I am flying a Mustang in Career mode. I have advanced to the date of 1/1/45 (When this big battle of operation BodenPlatte occurred). I take off on an escort mission and am expecting this big battle and nothing really happens. Its just another routine bomber escort mission. Am I missing something? I was expecting to see lots of enemy fighters!!!! I am all dressed up with nowhere to go How do I get the the battle of Bodenplatte? Thanks
1CGS LukeFF Posted September 8, 2020 1CGS Posted September 8, 2020 Not all Allied fighter squadrons participated in the Bodenplatte operation.

You'll find them in the 'Missions' section of the menu.
[LeLv34]Lykurgos88 Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Career missions are randomly generated so you don't find any "historical" day-by-day engagements in them. However Battle of Bodenplatte is present in the following single missions currently: - Sptifire IX single mission (Rheinland scenario) - FW-190D9 single mission (Rheinland scenario) - P-47 campaign mission (Hell hawks over bulge, "New year" mission in it)

That's not entirely right. While it is true that Allied squadrons will not have an airfield scramble mission on January 1, 1945 (because the mission type doesn't exist)*, all German squadrons that took part in Bodenplatte will fly an airfield attack mission on this day, in the morning hours. *The best that can be done right now for Allied squadrons is to give them a fighter-bomber scramble mission on this day, which some units do fly. Trooper117 Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 This is quite an omission for the campaign/career I feel. You buy GB Bodenplatte, a short but major operation and a historical one. You pick your favourite unit to fly and fight knowing it's leading up to that day and they took part in it... and then it doesn't happen?
Dufalator Posted September 8, 2020 Author Posted September 8, 2020 Thank you all for your responses. Now I understand. Thanks! I sure do love this great Flight SIM!!!!!
