Bailout/Parachute bug

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I thought this got fixed with the release of Tobruk, but I've noticed that my Allied pilots will not deploy parachute after bailing out (yes, he IS wearing one). I've checked the box in the FMB, added it in the pilot menu, and even flew straight and level at low speed to make it work. For some reason the Luftwaffe doesn't have this problem and bails out fine no matter what the altitude or speed, but so far I'm 10/10 parachute failures out of allied aircraft. Is there a setting I can adjust manually?

I've been fiddling with this for he last few hours and have yet to have one successful bailout. This is a bit frustrating, thanks.

I cannot bail out with Italian pilots... Just with them ?

Airone, to bail out with Italian plane you have to jettison canopy first (it works for me in Mc 202).

Even in plane without canopy - G.50, and remember that need send this command two times, since the first just... disable the Jettison. It's CloD! ?

Well, you have nothing to set manually, other than tick "parachute" in FMB - what you already have done.

But parachute work OK for Allied planes crews, I have including AI Tiger Moth crew bailing out.

Could be that some details in your mission combine for disable parachute... this happens in one Quick Mission, Spits intercept He 111 over London. No idea about what.

For some reason it doesn't work anytime I bail out of a Spitfire, period. I have tried 20 times and 20 times the chute fails to open.

I tried - In QM, flight over Channel with all versions of Spitfire and bail out, parachute open went OK, minus with that ridiculous thing called "'Heartbreak". :P

Unfortunately mission code don't show if parachute are on or off, because by default are always on - reading from default file inside SFS files (I guess).

Only when you un-tick parachute in FMB is registered in mission code:

Parachute 0

Try with  "Parachute 1" to see if make difference.

Tried the 'Parachute 1' line in the mission file, it re-checked the 'parachute' in FMB, and I still fell to my death.

I also did free flight in QM and was bailing out just fine. Not sure what is going on...

I'll keep messing with it and try not to get shot down.

I also had a problem flying the 202 yesterday in MP (TFS server).

I was in level flying, I jettisoned the canopy then hit the key to eject. The animation started but stopped in the middle. (I wasn't in the cockpit view anymore, I could see the engine bay).

It stayed that way until the plane belly landed. I wasn't in control anymore.

Please report as bug and show images if you have them.

Will do. I don't have an image I wasn't recording that sortie. Will do if it happens next.
