Thrustmaster Warthog Detents for WWII birds

Hey Guys and Girls,

Just a quick post to show something that I've been using in IL-2 to make my life a little easier.

For those of you that are unaware, inside your Thustmaster Warthog Throttle, there is a small plastic insert called the "Afterburner Detent" where the throttles come to a natural stop at Mil power and have to be pushed over the detent to go into Afterburner. Many Warthog owners are completely unaware that these are removable, and it's possible to create your own.

This one I've linked is for the P51 when using the 150 Octane fuel, and has detents for the RPM on the left throttle, and Manifold pressure on the right throttle to drop the throttle into a little recess when you're at 2700 for RPM and at 46" and 61" of Manifold pressure. This makes flying and fighting the Mustang a whole lot easier without using the Technochat notifications.

You may need to adjust your throttle dead zones very slightly for these to work perfectly, but out of our little virtual squadron of 4, only 1 of us had to do that and the other 3 all worked with the insert as it was.

You can download the file to print here: Thrustmaster Warthog Throttle Insert for P-51

Before you ask, yes I do have them for other Aircraft, I've made the following and have now published them to Thingiverse

A-20

P-38

P-39

P-47

Spitfire Mk IXe -

Tempest Mk V - Published

I have plans to make;

Hurricane
Mosquito

P-40

Spitfire Mk V

Spitfire Mk XIV

Stuka

Typhoon Mk Ib

Finally, for anyone living in Australia who doesn't have access to a 3D printer, I'm willing to print and mail out the inserts for a nominal fee to cover the printing in PLA and postage to you. PM me if you're interested.

This is fantastic mate! I was already thinking to buy a 3d printer for other projects, now I really have no excuses anymore. You know the creality ender-3 v2? Would you recommend it?

I'm actually using the Ender 3, and absolutely love it. Even my wife likes it as I've printed out several little things to fix items around the house :)

Amazing find, and thanks for the files, i'll get my son in law to make one, and will surely be interested in others for my fav plane; alas i like most planes LoL.

Get the allan wrench out for each new mission; isn't there a software workaround trick for this?

I know it's an old thread but did you manage to make the other ones: Hurricane, Mosquito etc?

You might be better off sending a PM to the original poster rather the revive an old thread that hasn't been touched in 2.5 years.
