Battle of Normandy stand alone... where are all the aircraft/maps?

G'day chaps,

Now, I'm fully willing to concede that my intellectual frailty is the problem here, but I hope you'll enlighten me anyway.

I bought BoN as a standalone from this website, downloaded the installer, and let it do it's thing. When I open the game, my login details and the Battle of Normandy scroll are in the top right of the screen. However, when I pick Quick Mission to go and start spreading death and destruction, the only aircraft available to me is the P-47, and the only maps appear to be three Russian maps. It looks like a Demo version. I can't find anything on the updater or in the game to download the BoN content. Is this all there is at the moment? Or am I doing something hopelessly and hilariously stupid?

Any help would be much appreciated, a man can only weep in frustration for so long.

Regards,

Jack.

It's early access, only the P47 had been released...map will be among the last parts released...likely late 2021, early 2022.

read through the latest developer diaries to get some info on release schedule.

Thanks for the quick reply, looks like Bodenplatte will need a purchase too.

There ya go... then you can fly quite a few good fighters and some awesome scripted campaigns while you wait for BoN to get finished.

Welcome aboard BTW!

I was a big fan of vintage il-2/PF, spending probably hundreds if not thousands of hours at it over a decade or so, and just got a computer capable of running the new Gen. I'm definitely looking forward to getting amongst it!

Bodenplatte is done so you will have everything when you buy it.  If you have bought Normandy early access the one plane that is done (P47 razorback) is usable on the Bodenplatte map.

I just bought the Normandy game and the functionality is pretty limited, did I need to get the Stalingrad base game in order to play a campaign or career mode

The Battle of Normandy is in pre-order status as it is still a work in progress.

That's why none of us have access to the full game yet as it is still in the early stages of development.

You don't need any other game to enjoy the game but for now content is limited and will be released during regular updates.

Therefor you don't have a campaign or career mode of BoN yet.

The first plane has been released a couple of weeks ago (The P47 "Razorback").

Have a nice day.

:salute:

I think you need Battle of Stalingrad only for Steam account.
If you buy products here, you do not need anything else. But as mentioned before, Normandy is still in early development, it will take 1-1.5 years till it will be released, so I suggest you get (or wait for frequent sales) other product. Most of the players recommend Battle of Kuban. But I would recommend going through all the player made and official campaigns and see what planes you like and then decide for your self, or buy everything on the nearest sale (most of the products usually have 75% sale off).

Yes. And if you’re on a tight budget after your new rig purchase, do as I do and buy a Oculus DK2 second hand for about 70-80 bucks and don’t look back.

Btw: a used DK2 can be taken apart fully and easily so you can clean it thoroughly. One of my prerequisites on buying a second hand VR device ?
