Rjel Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 I found these fascinating. The first link is to CBS Network Radio's complete D-Day broadcast. The second is from NBC. Listening to these it doesn't take much imagination to feel yourself slipping back to June 6th, 1944 wondering how it will all turn out like millions of people all over the world must have felt that day. The other interesting aspect of listening to these is how similar both broadcasts are to what we have today when a big news story break. Plenty of conjecture. "Experts" telling the audience what is happening without having first hand knowledge. Lots of information that later proves to be inaccurate or even completely false. Still very interesting living history. http://archive.org/details/Complete_Broadcast_Day_D-Day http://archive.org/details/NBCCompleteBroadcastDDay
