ITAF_Airone1989 Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 (edited) Hi guys, From today the Tuttovola server will be officially online! Together with the Italwings group we are taking the first steps to try to recreate events similar to those held in BoS. The road is still long but the goal is to be able to recreate the same exciting atmosphere. For the moment there are two missions 24 hours a day (except for any test), for anyone who wants to train in dogfight. The style is that of Berloga by BoS:Tobruk: There are 4 spawn point at 2.500 meters (Axis east/Axis west; Allied east/Allied west). By choosing the area you will fly over you can decide which plane to fight against! Sollum bay area: AI -> Bf110/Beaufighter Sidi Barrani area: AI -> Macchi 202/P-40Army Red Spawn points Allied east (W5? Head 330° towards the burning village until a message tells you that two Macchis are on their way. Head to Sidi Barrani to face them. Allied west (G3): Head 330° towards the burning vehicle until a message tells you that two Bf-110s are on their way. Head to Sollum bay to face them. Army Blue Spawn points Axis east (S4): Fly over the burning village at your 2 o' clock until a message tells you that two Hurricans are on their way. Head to Sidi Barrani to face them. Axis west (E5): Fly over the burning airfield at your 3 o' clock until a message tells you that two Beaufighters are on their way. Head to Sollum bay to face them. Channel You can find a lot of different battles around the map, so be sure to read your army briefing for more details.RED AREA -> pure dogfight. JG-1_Ludwig Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 I tried this one last night, and it is really nice to have the in-air spawn points, sure saves time. Unfortunately the 2nd time I spawned in I collided with my previous self. I tried getting around it 3 or times with no success (Axis spawn points) If went to the opposite spawn point I got in OK. If I got out of the server and back in I could spawn in OK... but if I crashed, which happened a lot because the JU-88 would immediately flip over and go into a flat spin... I could not restart at the same spawn point. This will be a big help in sorting out controls and switches, very happy to have it.
ITAF_Airone1989 Posted September 5, 2020 Author Posted September 5, 2020 Thank you @LarryLudwig for your report, I'm really wondering about how this is possible, I will do some test as soon as I'll have time and try to find a way to fix it... Happened just with Ju-88?
ITAF_Airone1989 Posted September 7, 2020 Author Posted September 7, 2020 Update: -) improved AI behavior [close to veteran's skills] -) improved management of AI spawns [ever 5 minutes a new couple will join the battle] -) AI always fly in pairs (so watch your six!) -) updated maps: the dogfight will mainly take place in the white area -) Channel map: from now it is also possible to meet Bf-110 and Beaufighters,
ITAF_Airone1989 Posted September 8, 2020 Author Posted September 8, 2020 And here we have the trailer: 1 1
JG-1_Ludwig Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 Quote Happened just with Ju-88? No, what ever plane I spawned in... and crashed/exit whatever... when I came back in I would see the same plane for a split second before the explosion. The JU88 was the only one that I remember having the spin problem... but again... when you crashed and spawned back in BOOM! I went to the other German spawn point and it worked (same thing though) it would spin the Ju-88 and then crash when you respawned.
ITAF_Airone1989 Posted September 9, 2020 Author Posted September 9, 2020 (edited) BIG NEWS: New AI spawn system. Since the previous idea of starting the AI every 5 minutes caused some problems (sometimes they all came together, other times they didn't arrive at all), I decided to change the spawn method: this time it will be up to the player to decide when and which AI to spawn. Just fly in the areas delimited by the smoke (dark to start the Axis AI, light to start the Allied AI) and head to the nearest city. In this way no more empty server! Let me know if you like this setting and if everything works fine! "Tobruk: There are 4 spawn point at 4.000 meters (Axis north/Axis south; Allied north/Allied south). By choosing the area you will fly over you can decide which plane to fight against!Army Red Spawn points Allied north (H7): Head 330° towards the dark smokes until a message tells you that two Macchis are on their way. Head to Bardia to face them. Allied south (I3): Head 330° towards the dark smokes until a message tells you that two Bf-110s are on their way. Head to Sollum to face them. Army Blue Spawn points Axis north (E10): Head 140° towards the light smokes until a message tells you that two Hurricans are on their way. Head to Bardia to face them. Axis south (G5): Head 140° towards the light smokes until a message tells you that two Beaufighters are on their way. Head to Sollum to face them." Edited September 9, 2020 by ITAF_Airone1989 1

Yesterday happened also to me: whatever aircraft I chose as soon as I spawned I had no elevators control -> spin -> stall -> crash I will do some further investigation, in any case seems that if you change side and than come back it works normal...
JG-1_Ludwig Posted September 13, 2020 Posted September 13, 2020 I didn't change side... but I changed spawn point and I could get in. Yeah... this is a crazy one.
ITAF_Airone1989 Posted September 13, 2020 Author Posted September 13, 2020 Update: Axis south trigger to spawn British Beaufighters doesn't seems to work sometime. If you are sure to be inside the light smokes and you see no message, consider the possibility to leave the aircraft and spawn from Axis North. Working to solve the problem.

JG-1_Ludwig Posted September 15, 2020 Posted September 15, 2020 OK, I tried the Tobruk Map.... airstart in the North worked... heading North, turned to 140° and server message said Hurricanes reset.... they mid-aired.... then it said Machi 202s coming.... so I shot one of them down just for the heck of it. I spawned from the South point and turned to 140° and headed towards the smoke... and the server message came up Beaufighters reset... they mid-aired... could see the pieces tumbling down. Then it said Bf-110s coming... then "Nope....it's too early for Bf-110s... then there were two Beaufighters, so I turned into them and hurt one... and here comes a Bf-110 at Mach 2 and he lit him up too. So we went around a bit and another Bf-110 came in and there were 3 of them buzzing all over the Beaufighters so I stayed out of the way and watched. Both Beaufighters went down. I saw two dots behind me and turned around.. heading back to the NW and I caught up enough to see that they were both Bf-110s heading back NW. Then server message came up that the server was resetting.

ITAF_Airone1989 Posted September 18, 2020 Author Posted September 18, 2020 (edited) Update: Stuka attack on the convoy! A british convoy is passing through the Channel, a group of Stuka is looking for it. Choose which side to deploy your skills! FeuerFliegen Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 I just noticed your server is on the Great Battles series now? Any info about that?

Yes, we have both... On Great Battles we use that as acrobatic server when we have training session, otherwise there should be some auto-generated missions with AI.
