JV44Pringles Posted September 1, 2020 Posted September 1, 2020 Hi everyone, A bit of a newcomer here but I'm learning my way around the game quite well. I wanted to ask a question concerning the use of Overlays while in Il-2. I typically play on CombatBox when doing multiplayer and of course... true navigation is a must. Before I started using my Oculus I could simply use the Steam Overlay to map a flight plan and everything was fine. However, when using VR in Il-2 and still running through steam... the overlay does not appear. I assume this is because turning VR mode on, changes stuff a lot and the Overlay can't be displayed properly in VR. I'm asking if anyone here who plays VR has a solution to having an overlay up ready to appear or disappear when needed. Maybe there is a way to force the true "Steam VR" into the game? I've taken a look into OVR Toolkit but I'm wondering if there is still anyway possible to have a steam overlay simply appear or something of that sort which is much more easier. Thanks!
firdimigdi Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Since I've opted for OpenComposite instead of using SteamVR and thus excluding the possibility of using OVRToolkit or the likes I usually pin a window using Oculus dash in a location in space that isn't obtrusive.
