nazz12 Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 Hello. I am was interested about this new simulator 2020. and I think to buy stick or yoke maybe.. I dont understand maybe nothing about this.. but I wanna to enjoy it. I dont know if buying good level stick like T16000 TCA (I think this new version was better than the old one) or maybe pay more for some professional.. I heard about Gladiator K but is out of stock right now.. and the Gladiator MKII but it was some old stick.. it was recommend? and what about throttle and pedals? it was important? I think the budget is up to 250$.
Sokol1 Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 People buy Yokes for "immersion", to pretend that are piloting a Cessna 177, etc. ? But a joystick will control the Cessna 177 in the same way, and are better - or at least, less cumbersome; for "combat flight games", "spaceship combat games", etc. TCA is just T.16000M with make-up, unde the hood are the same stick. But (IMO) TCA grip has better ergonomics and one button more. Gladiator MK.II, discontinued but still available in X-Plane.org store, is better thant T.16000M/CA, use contactless sensor tin twist axis (besides X, Y). T.16000M use potmtr in the twist and is their "Achilles heel". if you can await Gladiator NXT, is the best move. Some buyers receive shipping information this week.

But you recommend buy expensive one on the start? what about throttle/pedals? I want flying and playing maybe star citizen shooter up 250 dollars it was the best? I see some virpil expensive ones
Sokol1 Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 T.16000M/FCS/TCA, Gladiator Mk.II, are "entry level 3-in-1" joysticks, including a small throttle disk/slider and rudder control in grip left/right twist, so for start you don't need buy rudder pedals, stand alone throttles. What is ideally for a newcomer, because most people approach to "flight simulators" boil down fast, when they discovery that is not like another 'Shoot En Up' games. To be fair even a ~$40/50 Logitech 3D PRO is OK for start, but since use potmtr in all axes, the chance of issues (spikes in axes response) with less than a year of use is big. But if the player's enthusiasm ends sooner, the expense value would have been small. With the $250 the best bet - quality/features; is Gladiator NXT, e.g. the Lite version ($120)*, and after - if feel needed, throttle , e.g. Thrustmaster TWCS, TCA throttle, or - if released, the promised VKB add-on's for NXT. With $ 250 you buy Logitech G (Saitek) X-52, and maybe X-56 (pandemic situation and FS 2020 hype skyrocket the prices), but their QC lottery don't advise. See the complains about in Reddit/HOTAS, Amazon "reviews". * Anyway the NXT Premium version mini-stick has good use in space games like Elite Dangerous, and came with extra accessories, like more two springs options, worth the extra $30.
