WWI air races and obstacle courses?

Before my computer decided not  to load various parts/texture of a map on a server leaving me with a black screen  crashing me into the ground once the the game reloaded(old laptop from 2014), I was on a server for air racing and was thoroughly enjoying it. I also really enjoyed flugpark2's obstacle courses and like their idea of an air race on that server. This got me thinking, I am new to the il-2 sim community and was playing ROF which was really my first taste of a real flight sim outside of Warthunder's lite sim mode. I was also thinking having a non-combat server map for air races and obstacle courses could  possibly generate more interest in Il-2 flying circus and all of the other great battles modules while simultaneously providing a relatively low stress environment to learn how various airplanes handle which is useful in MP furballs. Going back to warthunder, one of my favorite single player mission(yes they have those) was flying a P-39 Aircobra through a canyon with active AA  and was an introduction on how a plane handles generally. When i was on the air racing server saturday at 21.00 (9.00 pm) US central time, about six other players were on it as well. I plan on investing in Elite Dangerous:Horizons for the same reason with canyon runs and races. I have reasons to believe that I am not the only one who likes non-combat flying once in awhile and perhaps those demographic are being ignored. I would love to create a server map that is strictly for racing and obstacle courses and post video footage on various social media platforms once I get a solid and new computer to test my theory. However, I do not know how to create a map like that. Any suggestions? or anyone willing to create it?

I think one of the problems will be lack of 'objects' in-game to build courses with.

Having watched the excellent video of Flugparks' course, I think they've probably stretched the possibilities as far as they can go with what we currently have to play with.

I have a map called 'The Twilight Zone' which has things to fly under / around etc. But I'm the only one who ever seems to bother with any of it !

 

These things might entice one or two to have a look, but I don't think an influx of obstacle courses is going to see an increase in activity, as things are just now.

If you're going to do ww1 mission making, accept it as a 'labour of love' type thing. Attracting pilots ain't so easy !

Hope you do something though, let us know if you do.

The #20 server has a racing course as well as an obstacle course. In the race course you need to shoot a spot light to start the count down, I believe its in the entente practice server. If wrong Mr. McGoun can chime in and correct me.

If you tell me roughly when you fly I'll put it up for you.

My server's not been up so much this last week or so. Been reminding myself how crap I am in ww2.
