DFLion Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 As the weather has improved this morning, you have been ordered to patrol the Munster, Osnabruck, Bremen region with eight Tempests, looking for enemy trains. The weather in the last few days has been extremely poor with solid overcast, heavy rain, snow and sleet which made flying very difficult for both the Allies and the Luftwaffe! This is another historical mission from Pierre Clostermann’s book ‘The Big Show’. Mission by DFLion. NB. Look at this mission carefully on the ‘plane visibility question’ that Han recently posted on the forum. I would be interested in your thoughts. DF_Tempest_vs_FW190D9_Mission2.zip 1 7
sevenless Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 Hi DF, love your missions. Just wandering since you named this ‘Tempest_vs_FW190D9_2’ mission2 Is there a first mission I possibly missed? Keep up the good work!
DFLion Posted September 8, 2020 Author Posted September 8, 2020 Hi sevenless, Glad you like my missions, I'll keep them coming. The reason I named this one, Mission 2 is that I did do an original 'Tempest_vs_FW190D9' mission as a test mission and I didn't want to confuse my mission directory. I might resurrect the original mission for you. DFLion 1

DF Lion thankyou, I was planning on creating this chapter myself but you have already done it! By the way, how did you get permission to use 'The Big Show' title with your 1946 skinpack? I ask as I hope to respect the content of the publisher and I do not want to unintentionally steal the author's content with my videos. Lemsip
DFLion Posted November 1, 2020 Author Posted November 1, 2020 Hi Lemsip, Keep those great videos coming. Many years ago I did the whole 'Big Show' campaign on IL2 1946 (I think it would be still available on Mission 4 today). One of my French players asked me if he could translate the whole campaign into French - which I gave him permission to do. He contacted Pierre Clostermann's daughter on both our behalf's and she gave us permission to use the name and information from the book which we were both very grateful. I don't think there would be any problem with your video's today. DFLion 1

HERCJG54 Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 Hello DFLion As French I am a big fan of Pierre Clostermann I began to fly on IL2 two years ago and I slowly tried myself to build missions on IL2 46 One of my first attempt was to recreate Pierre Clostermann's missions on VP mod for myself. One year ago I discovered your amazing job for the BIG show 52 missions with highly detailed briefings. I have the project to rebuild it on BAT using all the new tools and maps available to be closer as possible to reality. But as a non native english spoken I get some difficulties for the missions' briefings. So I ask for your waiver to let me use yours of course with full credit for what you have done. My project should be perhaps a little smaller around 35 missions (many maps changes!!) Fly safe HERCJG54 France PS I tried also to build missions on IL GB but it is definitely too hard (so I fly your missions!!!)
