Ju-87D-5 - as a premium aircraft in the game

Request on behalf of all Stuka Pilots

We (SG77 : https://luftflotte6.ipbhost.com/ and SG2 : https://ju-87.club/) are huge fans of the Ju-87 aircraft and of it's history. Our squadrons fly them almost exclusively in joint missions amounting to 20+ Stukas at a time. We humbly ask you to bring into the game the Ju-87 model D-5 as a premium airplane.
Reasons:

- Year of appearance in theaters of war is 1943 (first time on the Eastern front), so it can be useful on middle-aged and later maps for great historicity;

- Large released series (~1178);

- Improved characteristic, especially forward-facing armament (2 x MG 151/20) for better ground assault instead of dive bombing and for better resistance to fighters;

Consider this a petition signed by all members of SG2 and SG77

Thank you for your consideration and for the work you did bringing the D-3 model up to it's potential with the later updates.

I fully agree. we do need an other stuka for late war maps and servers! and who dose not like 20MM cannons anyway?

Much rather have a B-2. Of course, both the B-2 and D-5 would be the best of all worlds.

My guess is D5 could come with 1944-45 East front DLC over Poland. They can easy fit 5 vvs airplanes but on axis it could be tight fit finding 5 that did some damage, Ju-87D5 would fit there, dont know how popular it would be just as 20$ cllector airplane do.

The B-2 should be part of BOS, and the D-5 as a premium.

I´d rather have the Ju 87 B2/R2 for BoM and BoS and an additional Hs-123 as a collector. Those Biplanes flew well into 1944 in the east.

 

 

As for the Ju 87 D5. My guess is, that will come with an 1944/45 expansion, if that will ever happen with Yak-3 and La-7, etc.

I'd be happy already if there was only a StuVi for the current Ju-87 and Ju-88. Maybe the upcoming P51 is willing to cede one of its many options to these poor chaps?

Well the problem is that the Stuka at this moment really lacks firepower. It is not the best bird to fight other aircraft in the first place, but 20mm cannons really make a great difference. As much as I like the R2, I do not think we need to have that version as it's mainly used in the Mediterranean due to its extended range. I am working on a concept for a 'Battle of Malta' expansion. But that will take some time to fully present to the community.
