Had an uncle some 50 years ago who was a car dealer for Russian Moskivitch brand cars. They were cheap i was told, and also not of too good quality.

Now i tried to shoot some Russian tanks with a He129, and an FW190, but alas, NO WAY. Only the AA trucks in their column blew up. Quality build Tanks?

Damage set to 50, and vulnerable on BTW. Impossible?

the license plate reads "юан", which can be transliterated in to "yuan". ?

Having personally driven this particular vehicle in my youth its resemblance of the Chinese quality assurance is uncanny.

but I digress..

Sometime right before the 4.x update the HS129 mk108 AP ammo stopped being effective on the Russian tanks. It still is possible to destroy them with hs129 but where as before I could get 5 or 6 of them with 80 rounds nowadays it's only about 1 or 2. Either the hitboxes on the tanks got smaller or the ammo got nerfed somehow...

How close are you getting to the tank before shooting. I have not tried for some time but I would get scarily close before firing

Killing tanks is way difficult, but probably easier than it really was at the same time. I was re-reading a book the other day and found this description of strafing in the PTO interesting:

Air bases were the most dangerous target because of the flak and small arms. Like Wewak-there was this little rise and on top was an ack-ack gun. It went off right in front of me. There weren’t any windows on the side, and I could feel the heat from the blast on my face. That’s how close we wereto that gun. I don’t know how it missed us, maybe it couldn’t depress far enough so it fired over us. We had a saying that if you didn’t hit any trees on the way in we weretoo high, if you didn’t come back with green on the wing tips you might get clobbered. So on this mission I looked and saw that the planes on both sides of us were fifty feet lower than we were and I thought, “Oh, lord.’’ We had a substitute pilot that day. I think, “We’re going to get it.”

I guess if one wants to turkey shoot tanks, you need to go back to IL2 1946 ...
