Hello,

Sometimes in the game stock missions i hear radio comms about weather (before take off) and some other in combat (combat generator/scripted scenarios) i never heard from PWCG.

Just wanted to know if this is a normal thing or i need to reinstall etc.

BOX comms are such a poverty even some weather report would give it some life in a way...

I have less radio comms in PWCG too, at least less than in the singleplayer career mode. For example: My wingmen don't call out contacts they see in the distance, they just break away and the first radio comm is when they're 1 km near the enemy and attacking. I don't know what's the reason for that, I first thought is a kind of 'strict radio silence' but Pat said he doesn't change anything in terms of radio comms.

Leads often to weird situations when your whole flight is gone within a second without a word in the radio.

Yes VonGraf i have the same exact lack of contacts calls too. They just talk to radio once they are going to dive in the enemy, at the very last moment.

I do not know if PWCG devs can take a look at it, maybe it will require too much work.

I agree.

I honestly have no idea how to influence comms in a mission.

The first thing I usually hear is my pilot telling me which aircraft I am attacking. Needless to say, I usually don't even see the aircraft "I" am talking about.

Yeah radio comms would be well served with a nice complete makeover, however no doubt 1CGS has way more on their plate

to be able to devote resources to that.

I take this comm always as a last warning that someone is very close on my six. ?

It maybe a simple bug with of IL2 BOX/PWCG relationship. Do you think there is a way for IL2 devs to take a quick look about this issue ?

I'm pretty much on my own with PWCG.  I can ask in the Mission section of the forum

Oh, i thought there was a sort of unofficial cooperation with the IL2 Devs, my bad.Thank you for PWCG, without it i would not play this game (since career mode is really... meh and i am not motivated for MP, ex: kill your eyes to spot 1 enemy).

Indeed, that would be nice if someone of the mission section can help about it. Unfortunately, I can't since i do not know anything about Modding on BOS.

Very strange.

Patrick simply uses the same base editor logic, the same logic as career or scripted campaigns (although he does it just looking at code, which I can't comprehend) so I fail to see any reason why radio calls would be any different. Of course he arranges this logic in his own way as well all so, still the call thing is odd.

Now the presence or absence of a spotter unit would add (or remove) calls, but aside from that I can't think of why there would be any difference.

I've never heard a weather call yet...not sure which editor MCU this would even be tied to...airfield MCU perhaps.

I read something about the game only using certain call signs in career.  It might be fairly hard coded to only produce chatter on those call signs.  I am guessing, of course.

PWCG assigns a call sign to a squadron and therefore uses almost every call sign.  It's use of call signs does not conform to career more and TBH I don't want to make it do so.

If this is true, is there any way to change my flight call sign on the mission file before playing it or it will mess everything?

I am going to take a look how to edit missions in BOS then.

I don't think changing the call sign messes anything up.  I imagine it can be done in the ME.
