Enceladus828 Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 (edited) The images shown are from IL-2 Desert Wings-Tobruk. Before any jumps out ranting, let me tell you right here that I am in NO way asking for anything clickable in this thread, and that is final. These images are from the cockpit of a Bf-109F-2 which is flyable in both BoM and DW-T The images below are from the P-40E Kittyhawk. Flyable as a Collector Plane and in DW-T What I am suggesting is for aircraft in IL-2 GBs is that when you hover the mouse over an instrument of an aircraft, information is given. For some aircraft instruments like Airspeed, Altitude, Artificial Horizon, it's not really necessary, but with others such as the ones in these pictures, you don't really know what it means or what the numbers are just by looking at it. That is why I'm suggesting it, Not now, not during BoN development, but you know later. As a side note, one is able to do this in CFS3, despite CFS3 not having clickable cockpits. Thank you Enceladus. Edited August 22, 2020 by Enceladus Grammar 2
Mitthrawnuruodo Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 It would seem odd from a game design perspective to add an in-cockpit mouse cursor solely for instrument tips. In Dover, the cursor makes sense because it's also required for the click functionality. 3
Enceladus828 Posted August 15, 2022 Author Posted August 15, 2022 Sorry for necroing this thread guys, this is what I meant by being able to hover the mouse over an instrument to know what it says if it's an instrument that's very small, thereby hard to read, or you just don't know because it's in a language you don't know. WoFF: BH&H II has no clickable cockpits, yet you can still hover the mouse over an instrument to see what it's telling you. Therefore, this feature should also be added to IL-2 GBs. This feature for WW1 aircraft, not so much as the instruments are pretty basic (airspeed indicator, altimeter, compass, etc.), but for WW2 aircraft, there are times when I'm flying and I can't make out what some instruments are telling me, and without this feature in the pictures above for the Bf-109F-2 and P-40E, I would be pretty much clueless about what those instruments are reading. If it's possible to do so in WoFF: BH&H then it's possible in IL-2 GBs as well. 1
Mtnbiker1998 Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 Seems like it would require implementing most of the clickable pit tech anyway, needing a cursor and having an interaction with the cockpit. If the devs have stated that clickable pits aren't feasible, I doubt this is much more likely. Besides, why bother going through all that effort just for some tooltips?
