How to work with Alpha Channel on Photoshop

I use Gimp, but I'm trying to help a friend that use Photoshop to work with Alpha Channel.

 

I didn't find a tutorial... would be glad if someone could help.

Hey chaps,  dunno if you can find useful but some times ago  “Master szelljr” gives me some tips alpha channel related. Hope this help, today I’m still a joung padawan when alpha needs some “adjustments ??‍♂️
