There are no pre-production prototypes since the aircraft had been ordered straight off the drawing board based on the unsuccessful NA-40 prototype which lost out on a 1938 contract to the Douglas A-20." For clarity, the picture is of a NA-40, an earlier a/c and the "prequel" to the B-25. 1
cardboard_killer Posted June 30, 2021 Author Posted June 30, 2021 [80 years ago today] "• The Netherlands Purchasing Commission, acting on behalf of the Dutch government in exile in London, signs a cash (not lend-lease) contract with North American Aviation for 162 B-25C aircraft. The expedited order is to be delivered to the Netherlands East Indies to help deter Japanese aggression into the region. Only ten will be delivered before the East Indies fall. The rest will operate out of Australia and the United Kingdom. Dutch Mitchell" 1
