=SFG=capt_nasties Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Just wanted to check in with the VR crowd here to see if anyone else has noticed improved FPS performance on 4.009 or am I loosing my marbles (don't answer that)
dburne Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Seems about the same to me, however I was getting great performance already so I may not notice one.
Bernard_IV Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 (edited) Did they spread more of the load from the CPU to different cores? They did improve it a few updates back. Guys have 10 core processors that are struggling because the game only uses 1 core for most of the stuff, it's a problem. Edited August 19, 2020 by Bernard_IV
=SFG=capt_nasties Posted August 19, 2020 Author Posted August 19, 2020 I have not yet done any data logging on the CPU or GPU usage. but in the scripted campaign I usually use for bench marking I noticed better performance and upped my base line graphic settings from balanced to high and still was holding between 87 and 90 fps on my reverb. I doubt they can take advantage of more cores without fundamental changes to the graphics engine, but I am no graphics pipeline expert. Given its a DX11 title pretty sure single core speed is still king.
Dutch2 Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Mmm maybe time for updating, because I have stopped playing BoX because in my case performance was so bad, I did have to enable the 45FPS reprojection while that in combination with lowering the adjustments was not resulting in a happy VR ride.
Dutch2 Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Ok then its for me waiting for the real deal, the 4.2020 update. ? 1
