Female pilots - More to do

Congratulations!

to the devs for the female Soviet pilot. A very bold and progressive move.

 

But it's not quite finished yet. 

 

I don't know but I'm pretty sure Lilya Litvyak didn't grunt like a Welsh Rugby player during high-g maneuvers!?

 

So maybe a new sound effect file is needed. 

 

And perhaps a few more little things, like...

 

• some female voice R/T chatter? Done v4.505
• a male/husband/fiance photo for the cockpit?
• I believe Lilya used to put small bunches of flowers (Lilys?) in her cockpit? That would be a nice touch in remembering this brave young lady.

 

Maybe you have already begun work on one or more these aspects, and I will look out for them in the next update.

For the old IL2 1946, there is Russian women language. You just have to convert the file to MP3 and play it in the mission editor with the media. I've already written several test missions for myself, and now I want to really incorporate it into a campaign. But it takes a LOT of TIME!

We are going to introduce Litvyak and Budanova into PWCG.  But if I take a look at Budanova I do not expect any photo from a male in her cockpit.

Are you suggesting Budanova was a woman in comfortable flying boots?

Basically we need the ability to set the pilot gender in the plane MCU.  

- Add male/female toggle box to ME

- Ignore value for all but Russian

- respect value if plane is Russian.  Pilot will be female model and voice will be female.

- Default to male if no value provided.
