New Toolbars In ME?

After the 4.009 update I noticed a whole new group of toolbars in the ME.

 

 

Most are greyed out.  Are these the same tools as before but in a different layout?

This is how my ME interface displayed the first time I opened it after the update.  I did not click on anything to give this configuration.

I guess that these toolbars are for terrain editing or perhaps creating the map.

Wow... you mean we may eventually be able to actually get in on the ground floor! ?

Well most of them are greyed out so I just think they forgot to hide them when they released 4.009.  They have as much said they ONLY reason we have an ME is because so many people wanted it.  Obviously they are doing nothing to document or explain it, leaving it to us to figure it out.  They feel the overall base for such a tool is so small as to not bother.  Plus, since we as humans are curious enough we can figure most of it out and make content they don't have the time to make themselves.

I say if there are parts they don't want us to have access to, take those tools out of our version so we don't continue to wish and ask for things we won't get.

I would just like an "Official Guide to The ME" from them and we can take that a really run with it.

I wouldn't hold my breathe waiting for an Official Guide of any kind from the developers. Such things are, unfortunately, not their strong suite.  ?

We have PLENTY of mission editor documentation thanks to guys like JimTM not to mention pages and pages of answered questions here.

 

We don’t need the Devs duplicating the efforts already made. If you want to learn the ME then you will - you have the resources.
