How do I slow down tracking around aircraft when taking screenshots?

I use the hat on my joystick or occasionally the mouse to do “walk arounds” of aircraft and scenes during play backs of flights,BUT these “sweeps around any aircraft or vehicles are very imprecise & tend to slide by the place I want to take the screenshot.Is there a way to make tracking to stop & go just where I want-it has escaped me so far.

In the game settings there is camera speed and inertia setting- you could try fiddling with the controls for the external camera to see if you can get the controls more precise to where you want them.
